Can anyone provide any information on the incident on the bench involving J. Davis?

I saw where he only had 5 points. Didn't know there was one. Just remember the rules when posting.

I don't know anything about the incident but I do know for sure that Tanner Napier has left the team and cited being benched, playing time cut down, and lack of leadership from the coaching staff as reasons for leaving....seems funny for a team that is 5-11 and worst record in the 11th region to be benching Seniors and starting Freshman doesn't it???

According to the newspaper story this morning, 2 players (including Napier) quit plus there was a verbal incident between Davis and another player. They were escorted to the locker room for a while and returned to the bench, but didn't play after the incident. Last year, Lafayette had great talent and was very successful. Maybe this year is proving it was simply that great talent and not the coaches that made the difference. Seems the choice of Coldiron last year not working out like the Lafayette faithful would have hoped. Plus, his new assistants this year seem a bit puzzling.

Heard they were separated by law enforcement and escorted out but came out in the 2nd half and we're on the bench. After the incident after the regional final last year, seems as if the inmates are running the asylum. No wonder the Generals have taken a nose dive and I'm not sure if their is any light at the end of the tunnel. Looking like a questionable hire at best.

After the game, the Lafayette team walked off the floor and had to be brought back out by coaches (possibly administration) so they would shake hands with the Scott County players and go through the trophy presentation. Embarassing situation for all involved.

Nikeman, you seem to be a Lafayette supporter, what is the deal there?

Team in need of leadership....things will only get worse....all started when Coldiron benched Napier and Yarbrough (two seniors) and started Freshman in their spots.....the two Seniors had started three years and Coldiron tried to put the blame on them instead of himself and his staff.....Davis has been a constant problem with his Dad on the staff....he picked up a technical foul vs. Lex Cath and the only thing that happened was Coldiron patted him on the back....something must give here, bad situation!

Coldiron is a good coach with a solid track record. Lots of speculation on here but unless someone is at practice every day you never know what is really going on. If the kids quit instead of trying to fight to get their starting positions back it may say something about their mental outlook. Just throwing out some alternative ways to see the situation - I have no inside info.

That is interesting. Didn't Lafayette know what they were getting into by making that hire? Didn't the previous coach get fired and Coldiron was on his staff? No change it seems. Hate it for all of the Lafayette fans.

Coldiron is a very tough and demanding Coach. I know this firsthand. If you lay down on him or don't give full effort then you can forget playing. I don't know anything about the situation up there, but I have to agree with Plato to an extent. Unless you are there every day, there is no way to know.

Has lost ALL control of the situation, plain and simple!

Coldiron treats players differently....just ask Yarbrough and Napier....senseless act and everyone involved in the program knows that is a fact!
