Wow. It's been a season of streaks so far for GRC hasn't it?

Good win for Pendleton, especially with their Seniors gone on Senior Trip. Freshman Josh Brown pitched a gem for Pendleton County. They only had one hit, which was a bunt hit by Josh Brown, but Nicholas County's pitchers struggled with control. Dalton Pope started for Nicholas County.

I don't know much about Walton outside of that Dustin Cottrell is a stud. Pendleton had three starters gone on senior trip as well.

Heard the first 7 runs for Walton-Verona were unearned. Ouch.

In 6 years, Coach Simms won 4 district titles, went to 2 Regional Semi-finals, and one Region Final. He had a postseason record of 11-6. This is pretty impressive to me, considering he coached in the middle of the Clark County/Mason County dominance era of the 10th Region. Coach Simms' Pendleton teams beat Harrison County in the district tournament four times, in their own house, often when Harrison County was favored to win the 38th district. Coach Simms won 3 district titles during the King Twin Era at Deming. His teams often struggled in the regular season, as they were rarely one of the most talented teams in the 10th, and they always lacked height. However, he garnered postseason success. I was under the impression this was what it was all about. This past years team, probably his most talented, was projected as one of the favorites to win the 10th Region. However, they underachieved, and a lot of parents turned on Coach Simms. In a perfect world, that doesn't matter, because parents don't play a role in high school athletics. Unfortunately, this world isn't perfect. Coach Simms certainly wasn't fired; he accepted the administrative job. However, I'm not sure people will realize till he's gone that he did a great job at Pendleton. He won postseason games at Pendleton, which isn't exactly a mecca of basketball talent. I'm a Coach Simms supporter, clearly. Rant over.

Yes, that is Jon Wirth. However, I got word tonight that he will not be the coach. I don't know who the next coach will be, but it definitely won't be from in house.

My guess would be assistant coach Jon Wirth will be their new head coach. He is more than qualified.

Final from Augusta in 4 innings.. A drubbing like this occurs every year, and every year the winning coach is crucified on here. I just hope that Mason County was holding kids to singles, and everyone but the water cooler got to play. If those things were done, no complaints here. It's a district game, Augusta's seniors were on Senior Trip, and Mason County isn't exactly a baseball powerhouse. If Mason County starts striking out on purpose, that's more humiliating to Augusta than a 40-0 loss. That being said, someone please tell me those things were done.

GRC will be fine. Their new coach will right the ship. They have too much talent to not compete.

Freshman Josh Brown gets the win in five innings. Senior Brent Jacob had a double and 4 RBI, and Evan Spicer had 3 RBI. Pendleton improves to 7-5 on the year. In Pendleton's three games this weekend, Brent Jacob, Tyler Daugherty, and Josh Brown combined to throw 19 innings without giving up an earned run, each pitching a complete game.

First game of a doubleheader in Frankfort. Junior Tyler Daugherty goes the distance on the mound for Pendleton, giving up only 3 hits, and striking out 5. Brent Jacob had 2 RBI, and Freshman Mack Ramsey had a double, and 3 RBI.

Jacob is 4-0 with 4 complete games.
