  1. Sure have witnessed some behaviour out of Greenup's coach this year! At least it was entertaining....
  2. Agree with you. It seems the people held accountable for those violations were the innocent who stayed at Rose Hill, both administrative and student/athletes. Maybe this is a good example of, "what goes around, comes around". :idunno:
  3. Ashland advances to the championship along with Fairview in the Raceland Tournament.
  4. Biggs played every player off the bench. I think a total of 13 players for Ashland played before the end of the first half.
  5. Does anyone know how many of the GC basketball players also play football?
  6. Not sure if Brock Walter was the AP showing them around. It may have been Mr. Dowdy. Ashland has 2 assistant principals. And, yes I agree with the other poster who said they should check out other schools. I also agree that wherever they end up I hope they have a good experience. Still no idea as to whether elidgible to move schools for any of them without sitting out a year. I guess we all just have to wait and see the ruling.
  7. Don't know about the football team but they are being escorted around by an assitant principal and Ryan Whetsel's mother.
  8. Well, I just received a message from a student at Blazer that both Corey Gregg and Kyle Bush are being given a tour of Paul Blazer, as I type. Interesting that either would even consider Blazer since so many Rose Hill Basketball supporters are more than critical of Ashland on this forum. Only time will tell.
  9. I wonder if Koundog is actually saying that there has been no investigation by KHSAA and there will be no ruling against Rose Hill? I can tell you quite honestly that there has been an investigation and a ruling will be public soon. They may be waiting until Rose Hill resumes their school year so as not to scare away any more students. Enrollment is way down at Rose Hill and there was speculation by church members and faculty they might not have enough to open the highschool this year. This is fact and not terribly difficult to check out. I was told directly by a parent whose child plays another sport that he couldn't get any answers from the school about the allegations so he called KHSAA personally. While KHSAA declined to tell him what the exact problem was, he asked if in their opinion should they leave their child at Rose Hill or transfer ....and the voice on the other end told him that if it was their child, they would find another school. Again, none of us know for certain what the problem is, however when you consider that 6 boys on the basketball roster are no longer there - Terry is so far the only major player who has left. The other 5 are a little younger, etc. There has to be a problem and to say otherwise doesn't make sense. As I stated earlier, I do hope none of the kids are penalized from playing ball.
  10. I just received a phone call from a friend who reads this forum. He tells me that both Stephen Friley and Keenan Mullins have also left Rose Hill. Mullins is enrolled at Blazer and been in classes for 2 days. I guess KHSAA will make an announcement soon giving their ruling. In the meantime, the rest of it is all speculation.
  11. You could be right Spindoc, Although I never heard of Jerry Foster. A little clarity of my own on my opinion--- I am not now or ever have been a fan of the Rose Hill Basketball program. I just hate to see any student/athlete, no matter what school, penalized for something beyond their control.
  12. I know they called Dr. Douglas the principal. No matter, the administration as far as the educator positions have changed since the Fraley years. My point is that the current ones would not have been involved in any alleged wrongdoing at that time and it would seem unfair to punish the school now for something that might have occured a while back. JMO
  13. And, Kayla Day, on the girl's team has also enrolled at Fairview. A good authority tells me that Collin Kennedy went back to East Carter. Anyone know if that's true?
  14. Wasn't Mr. Douglas the principal then? He is no longer there and neither is his secretary.
  15. Exactly, Over and Back. You and I seem to be on the same page. IF that is what occured. The current superintendent (I think that is what the overall school director is called) and the Principal were not there when Coach Fraley was the basketball coach. It would appear they have inherited these problems. Since it has not been made public yet though, I find it odd that several players have already left the school which makes me wonder if they were there for the Christian education or simply to be an athlete.
  16. Spindoc: Certainly not these kids cuurently on the roster. IFwhat I am hearing is true, the allegations were from several years ago and involved tuition being waived for some athletes, but not for others, during the tenure of Coach Fraley. It doesn't make sense to penalize current athletes/students based on something that occured then. I would think the penalty should be for the adults behind the alleged actions and not the kids. Again - just one opinion. I'm sure there are many other opinions!
  17. Have heard the allegations that Rose Hill's program was under investigation by KHSAA for a couple months now. I'm sure it will be made public soon. If Facebook status has any credence, Corey Gregg posted on his wall this morning that on Monday he would be enrolled at some school somewhere and indicated that he didn't care where it was, but that he would be the first in the gym and the last one out. When adults make poor choices with kid's lives (speaking of the basketball program - not parents) the kids should not be made to suffer the consequences. Only the adults responsible should be held accountable. Just my opinion.
  18. Pendleton looked good. Ashland looked good in their first 3 games, but tired in the 4th against Pendleton. Ashland was quick and fast with lots of substitution. They appear to be a pretty deep team with solid bench strength. I am looking forward to watching these kids play this fall.
  19. And....thats why we play the games instead of going on season stats to determine the best. Anything can happen in post season play. When you get down to the best teams it usually hinges on which teams have the most poise and focus.
  20. I also thought it was a risky move to keep EC starters in with the win obviously sealed, however, I hope you are not insinuating that any Ashland player would deliberately take a "cheap shot" at an opposing player. I'm sure the Ashland kids wish the EC boys well and are proud to have a strong team represent the 16th at the state tourney.
  21. It was obvious that Coach Biggs was comfortable with the lead and instead of having his team concentrate on winning, he just had them concentrate on "not losing". In other words they stopped attacking the basket. etc. This strategy obviously didn't work as Ashland had trouble making the foul shots. Live and learn Coach Biggs. This is not a team who has the talent overall to ever back down. Good luck to all four teams tonite and heres hoping all the kids are injury free!!
  22. My comment that EC didn't appear to be playing overly aggressively was a compliment to them. I believe you misunderstood me. It was obvious they could have poured it on even more than they did! However, why bother? There is no point in running the risk of injury before the championship game.
  23. I agree. I didn't think Elliott played overly hard in the first quarter. Maybe they didn't want to blow the other team out? I don't know, but they are certainly very capable and the Tomcats will have an uphill battle with or without Timmy Knipp. Here's hoping his ankle heals and Ashland can play the full team. Best of luck to both teams and congrats on getting this far!
  24. Ashland was up by 16 for several minutes, then turnovers almost lost it for them. Rowan shot the ball well. Congratulations to Coach Biggs and the young Tomcats!
  25. Rowan Co. will obviously have a home court advantage and fan base. I wonder how many Ashland loyal will be on hand to cheer for the Tomcats? Good luck Tomcats!
