Fair enough, I'm lucky enough to have gotten to watch Elliott and Holmes numerous times this season. That wasn't something thrown at EC fans without some thought; just to start an argument

That bottom half is a gauntlet. It's going to be very hard for any team on the bottom portion to win it, they will be dead by Saturday night IMO. With that being said, I think Holmes still wins it, they can match up favorably with any team in the bottom half IMO, Scott will be the toughest test, Elliott will be fairly easy IMO-Elliott Fans begin your bashing now.

As well as their length and athleticism. They are one of the most athletic-if not the most athletic-team in the state. I think they match up more than favorably against Ryle

Not bad, they lost their best player in Matt Thomas, he was their best ball-handler, defender and leader. Also he was the 16th region player of the year. I don't know much about the situation but I have heard there is a lot of hard feelings towards coach Biggs and some players have quit. I may be wrong about some of the details, but from what I've read on here and what I've heard from people that played Basketball at Ashland that I have class with. Anyone closer to the situation than I, or a Mod, correct what I have said if any of it is wrong. With that being said, I've only watched Clark play once this season and that was in an early season scrimmage against Elliott. And from what I have heard, they have really improved from that game. I'll take GRC by 15-18

Holmes by 25.

I was talking to two of my friends yesterday and one suggested to perhaps take the six class champions, and then have them play to determine an overall state champion. I don't know how you would determine who had first round byes, since there are six teams, but it is an interesting idea. I completely disagree with "Class" Champions. There is no way to determine a true State Champion by doing this. Because some years, your Single A champion (i.e. Elliott County) may be better than any of the five other class champions, but you never know. It takes away from the stigma of winning a State title in Class systems IMO. Kentucky is not a big state land-wise, like California is, where it is almost impossible as well as illogical to have one tournament-but Kentucky's state tournament is just fine the way it is IMO.

Agreed, no reason to really even play the starters more than 10 minutes or some IMO. Get them some minutes to keep them fresh and pull them. Elliott by 14-only because I think Mays pulls his starters after the first.

It should be a decent finish. I think Hazzard and Elliott will win it. My money would be on Elliott, but stranger things have happened.

I think this year Jeremy Webb is doing the best job in the 16th region. I would have thought that they would struggle to win 10 this year but Jeremy is really finding himself. 2.John Bush 3.Brandon Baker 4.Cooksey 5. Hicks I dont know how anyone can say Ricky Mays is a good coach. The man has arguably one of the best teams in the state and they have gelled well over the past 4 years. And the bald fella on EC's staff seems to do most of the coaching during Varsity games. It's just my opinion, I've watched Elliott probably 5 or 6 times this year and I have yet to see him get up from his chair.

Shouldn't be a problem for Holmes and I agree with Eta, this is probably the only speed bump left for the Bulldogs on their way to Rupp in March. But do not overlook them, stranger things have happened and better teams have lost to worse opponents

:thumb: I do too. I think this season is as wide open as any. I think our Bulldogs can take EC, but it will be a great game!

People get bent out of shape about the goofiest things. EC is one of the better teams in the State. And are one of the most talked about on this board. If you all are going to discuss yourselves as much as some do, you will get some heat. I am not trying to be a jerk or start a fight, I have no problem with EC. I used to live in the area so I am rooting for EC, but it amazes me some fans get that bent out of shape. You have to take into account that these boys ARE human and they will make mistakes. Of course, those fans that dislike EC are going to think they are just a bunch of hoodlums and those fans of EC are going to see it as though their boys are saints. from a fan that is neutral-Holmes Fan-I can see where some of the remarks from anti-EC may be too much and those from pro-EC are a little Naive. Congrats to The Lions and good luck the rest of the season

Timmy Knipp is a sophomore, thus he is the second best Sophomore in the 16th region. And if you want to argue Aaron Rayburn is one of the best sophomores in the state, then he should maybe be one of the better players in the region. There are a lot of Good players in the state. I don't think Aaron Rayburn is one of the top 25 sophomores in KY.

I really don't Understand why people hype Dakotah. I will admit, I have only watched him one time when they played Holmes in the Bluegrass/Buckeye Challenge and was very disappointed in Euton and Phares both. I think it goes for me: 1.Pittman 2.Guyn (sp) 3.Jackson 4.Ricardo Johnson

You have Cody Nickell on your list and yet you don't have Timmy Knipp. Who, I think has the potential to be a Legit D1 prospect. He is very athletic, a decent shooter and with sometime and hard work, Timmy will emerge as one of the better players in Kentucky in the next 2 years. He has brilliant upside. Aaron Rayburn is a decent player, but he is not better than The four from Elliott or Barnhill. And I thought the topic's title was Best Soph's in Ky. Your three are 16th players. Zollo and Stinsell are both better than what most from the 16th saw in their scrimmage against Elliott during the Thanksgiving holiday. Zollo, like Timmy needs to be more physical and once he gets his sea legs, Vinny will be very good. IMO
