Wildcats Are Still Recruiting Eric Bledsoe
Devil4Life33 replied to Wireman's topic in College Basketball
I thought he meant Wall and the Henry brothers. -

There is no way we land both of them. From what I've gathered, the biggest influence on Bledsoe's desicion will be the ability to play right away and if Wall comes there will be little PT for Mr. Bledsoe. I think that this means that Wall will not be a Wildcat next year  -

This can't possibly be good news regarding Wall's recruitment...can it? -
Delk and Padgett added to Calipari's staff
Devil4Life33 replied to Log Mountain Boy's topic in College Basketball
Great move! It's never a bad thing to have 3 coaches (including Strickland) on staff that had success at the NBA level, especially with recruiting. -
Is that the same ESPN that had Randolph Morris as a first round pick a few years ago? :sssh: I just wouldn't put too much stock in anything until the players actually work out for some of these teams and at some of the camps.

Liggins: "Gone..." if Gillispie Stayed
Devil4Life33 replied to Wireman's topic in College Basketball
I couldn't agree with this more. My main complaint with either of these players was that they didn't develop any from their first day in the program which IMO is 100% due to poor coaching. -
I really believe with a decent amount of training/coaching he could pick any position on the football filed and dominate. Freakish sounds like the perfect word

It just seems about time Lebron starts winning all of these. With a decent team around him he will consistently be at the top of the league in wins and his statistics will always be deserving. Not to mention he takes over games in so many different ways. This will be the first of many...

After watching the state tourney I am not convinced that he could play PG at a high D1.
-
No problem, I just didn't understand. I do agree that he would be far and away the best point guard at any of the schools mentioned, but mainly meant that there was absolutely no competion at UK
-
I don't really get where you say wishful thinking? I did say that Wall would start for ANY team but the MOST competition is going to be at Duke and UNC. Just because Wall is the #1 PG with all the hype does not make him a proven commodity either. And I didn't say Roy Williams would care to keep them all happy, just saying that if he did it would be amazing. I think you elaborated more on what I was saying than making an actual point of your own.
-
I think Wall would start on any team, but if you look at the top 3 UK, Duke, and UNC. There is only one team that he won't have some competition at PG and that is UK. MIght as well come here and run the show from day one. If Roy Williams could bring Wall in and still keep him, Drew, and Strickland happy with playing time he is one outstanding coach. If either Duke or UNC land Wall I think it will be a long year for everyone else in the ACC and the rest of the country for that matter. UK and NC State definitely have the biggest need for a PG, hopefully he picks one of those, preferablt UK.

Thanks!

Calipari picks three staff members
Devil4Life33 replied to bigblueinsanity's topic in College Basketball
Are you sure about this? I thought I saw Strickland on the bench before last year. -
I would have to agree with you, but I think the workouts will show some flaws in Pattersons game. It's hard to be a 6'8" power forward with no secondary move. I think he'll need another year to improve his post moves and on the ball defense to go along with his strong face up game and great weekside defense. If he comes back I can see that free throw line wide open with Cousins or Orton posting on the block.
-
I don't like seeing him flirting with North Carolina now. especially given his mother's health concerns. If he decides to stay home I wish he would go to a different Carolina school besides Duke or UNC. Doesn't Davidson need a point guard?

I'm just trying to learn a little bit about Ky AAU... is it too late to form a team? Is there a website or something that has more details (how to register, schedules, etc)?
-
Where does that leave Dayton? Against Bellevue? Are the teams the same as in basketball?
-
This may be the best thing to happen to Meeks. If scouts give him specific parts of his game to improve on he could come back and help out big time next year for UK. The one area that he has down is his shooting and that is proven, so I wouldn't be surprised if he came back to school and his numbers looked something like 17 8 and 6 with him having an emphasis on improving everything but his scoring.

Lex News Reporting Memphis Boosters Matching UK Offer
Devil4Life33 replied to DADDY CAT's topic in College Basketball
Gametime posted in a different thread that he heard Cal is coming so I'm sticking with that until he says different. He seems to be spot on in most cases. -
If Calipari is the next coach...
Devil4Life33 replied to goldendomer57's topic in College Basketball
I think it might even have a less than 1% chance of happening...but that is one nice team. With the talent on that team any it probably wouldn't matter the coach of the team. -

I wonder how many of those voters are hopeful UK fans? Maybe it will tell him that Memphis doesn't trust him  -

Devil4Life33 replied to goldendomer57's topic in College Basketball
If they were already trying to add a guy for 09 and Liggins tranfers as many think he will, wouldn't that make enought room for Wall and Cousins? I'm not really educated on the amount of scholarships they have but that was the logic I was using. -

And they would have guys on the bench with experience (stevenson, Harris, Porter) if they got in fould trouble or went cold. I don't like those guys as starters but they could fill 5-10 minutes of role play very well. And hopefully Pilgrim is the beast that his teammates have described him to be. -

I don't really put a whole lot of stock in ESPN or any of the rumors on here (unless they come from a select few) so I'm just waiting for the press conference... if they said on Sportscenter that there was a conference scheduled tomorrow to announce the new coach I would be excited.
