Do you think this team has more talent than 2024 state champs? Basically all the seniors on this team were sophomores. Add in the seniors on 2024 who were super talented - Hayden, Erdman, Cusick, Mattox Kelly, Flaherty, et al. That team was LOADED.

Momcilovic is projecting as mid second round pick. He should return to college. UK is considered a strong contender for him if he returns to college.

Interesting. I didn't know he played QB. He didn't play it any on the freshman team.

Why would you think Mercer?

That was a fantastic finish! I got to spend time in the garage and pits at the Monday practice. A lot of fun. It is amazing how small the pit area is that they are all packed into. The cars are smaller than I expected and not as loud as I expected. The speed is just crazy when you are that close watching them go by.

I think BJ Hill starts instead of Allen. But it doesn't matter. It will be a rotation. They have a lot of depth on the d-line with this team. I still think there might be a veteran LB picked up at some point. I also look for Mafe to flex back into a LB role in some sets.

The talent determines the balance of passing and rushing. I agree Rash will want an emphasis on rushing, but Volker did that as well. Arguably the number one item Volker will point to in his state championship season is the heightened focus on the rushing attack even with the school record holding QB Clay Hayden in his senior season. There were many seasons under Rash when the passing offense outgained the rushing offense because that is what the talent dictated. But I agree with you that Rash will work with Hergott to have a very concerted focus on rushing the ball - and Beechwood has the talent on hand for an explosive rushing game.

The Bengals under Zac Taylor have been slow starters. The first two games are playoff quality teams. Then game 3 is the Steelers and game 4 is another playoff team in the Jaguars. For a team with high expectations, they will get a chance to show in those 4 games what they have.

Offense is not good either. And it is amazing how many times they get to the end of the shot clock on a possession, and the ball is in his hands. The one thing he can still do is handle and distribute the ball.

Cleveland has no chance with Harden playing as prominent a role as he is. I don't see any way Atkinson makes the coaching move he needs to make to give the Cavs a chance.

Coach Stein needs to do some mentoring of Coach Pope.

No chance under current MLB agreement. The agreement gets renegotiated this winter but it probably won't help the Reds keep Elly.

Crazy to say OKC somewhat neutralized Wemby when you look at those stats, but it felt like they neutralized him.

OKC gets it done in Q4. SGA missed 5 straight shots to open the door a little but then he hits a big one in the last minute to lead the way to the win. Wemby was a non factor in Q4. Hartenstein played a very good game and somewhat neutralized Wemby.

It is mental. Athletes get the yips. That's why I say you have to trust your stuff, believe you can win throwing strikes. Believe your stuff, location, sequence are too good for batters to get hits.

A lot of times they are. They are scared. They don't trust their stuff. They pick at the edges and/or try to trick hitters into swinging at balls. Last night Santillan trusted his stuff, didn't pitch scared and threw strikes.
