Knowing nothing about this particular situation, I would guess the coach is trying to get the player more game experience. Also playing against your age group could give the player some confidence that translates over into success at the varsity level.

I would agree with that assessment, I saw them play a couple of times in Louisville this summer, bigger athletic guards gave them problems.

Not sure of the details but I think this job is open again.

I think It is very useful for smaller schools that cant replicate the level of competition in practice because their JV is made up of younger developing players. It is also very useful to see how kids with little to no experience,(starters missing for a variety of reasons) react to speed of play and better competition. It is an absolute grind at times, but the positives outweigh the negatives.

I think that has already happened.

From my knowledge a committee was formed, and Mr. Wesslemen excused himself from that committee. I'm sure the applicant pool wasn't super deep, and I knew when I saw the announcement that there would be cries of nepotism. Honestly, I'm not sure how it could've been handled much better than it was.

Sometimes transfers don't always gel with the existing team, sometimes they do. Walton returns a formidable squad with zero outside additions.

I don't understand the schools logic. In today's society more than ever kids need to learn how to lose, or better yet how to play when the odds are stacked against you. I know they lost a bunch of games by big margins, but a commitment to start is a commitment to finish, regardless of the final outcome. Before anyone asks, I have not seen them play, just speaking in generalities.

Point differential often makes coaches run up the score, when they otherwise would not. Everything else looks good.
