Here is my issue, this is a thread about a great football game between two quality problems. If discussion about the videoneeds to keep going perhaps it needs its own thread and let's keep this one related to the game, which was a very good defensive show by both teams.

One thing I have seen is not necessarily bad officiating but a definate decrease in experienced officiating. This is a direct coorelation of the decrease in numbers of officials. Because the number of officials has decreased significantly, people that would normally be on JV and freshman games for a year or two longer are now being assigned varsity games out of neccessity. The answer is getting more people willing to officiate. However, like 3rd grade math, I would have a hard time showing my work to get that answer.

The coaches opinion of not "caring too much for the other players" and being mentally tough is what happens when people forget in the grand scheme of things, it is just a game.

Actually the temperature requirement changed this year with the NCAA utilizing thin black pants, NFHS made it an option as well. So yes, it is a local association and crew decision. The only requirement is that all members of the crew must be dressed in the same uniform as each other.

On very rare occasions, something happens that is so special that everyone involved in it is a better person because of it. Saturday night was one of those occasions. Everyone involved will remember it for a very long time and will be better because they witnessed it. Nick, Coach Kidwell, the players, the Menifee Co players and everyone that just watched and cheered will remember that night for a very long time.
