How does a football crew decide what uni they are wearing?

 

I was at a game on Friday and the crew wore the black pants/white strip uni.

 

Saturday the crew wore the traditional white pants.

 

Is it up to each crew?

Basically yes it is. If the black pants are worn, then a long sleeve shirt is mandatory per the association so temperature is a factor.

Actually the temperature requirement changed this year with the NCAA utilizing thin black pants, NFHS made it an option as well. So yes, it is a local association and crew decision. The only requirement is that all members of the crew must be dressed in the same uniform as each other.
