  1. It is fine to make a sarcastic remark but at a kid? Also the comment came from a T fan and I would find it awfully hard to believe that a Hoosier has never suited up for T. Just glass houses thats all.
  2. ooch, pretty cheap shot to take at a young man, IMO. Expecially if it's possible you may live in a glass house. Congrats Duece hope to see you playing on saturdays in Commonwealth stadium soon.
  3. I know nothing of the business but air time on a local public cable channel can't be that expensive can it? I understand that the KHSAA is trying to protect it's revenues but take me for example, I can't make the games but would love to watch them on TV. Is there really that many people who would not attend because they are on TV? Or is it a case that the KHSAA wants to steep of price to broadcast the games that local cable companies can't make enough ad revenue to cover thier expense? I would even consider PPV if it can even be done on a small scale.
  4. Who made that statement? I think HHS would no doubt compete very closely with T & X but clearly are not better year in and year out. Several people have posted that T & X would "destroy" Highlands which is highly presumptious IMO. The numbers are they numbers, kids gravitate to the best programs especially top notch players that may be looking to get a full ride on the next level. You get to play an extra 4-5 games a year and win state championships and play at the top level in KY in front of recruiters. It just snowballs on itself. The only possible solutions to this problem(if you see it as a problem) is for the publics to take thier lumps in the finals and hope to catch lightening in a bottle once out of every 15-20 years or to go to a 3 +1 or 4 +1 format. To suggest that the numbers don't help or that T & X "make" better players is high comedy from individuals who just may need to take thier blinders off.:walk: I will say that numbers aren't the only factor and they probably do spend more time on films and weights than most publics do. In other words numbers help tremendously but aren't the only factor.
  5. Maybe, or maybe just a bad hair cut above.
  6. IMO you are seeing Simon Kenton reap the fruits of Dixie being unable to capitalize on some of the talent that has been through there in recent years. Maybe the good football players are giving another school with a new turf field a shot. I know someone who's son plays for Summit View middle school and they told me that a majority of the parents they talked to with the kids interested in playing football were planning on heading to play for Marksberry. This conversation took place back early in the middle school football season before this run to state by the Pioneers. Or it could be just an extrordinary talented class of kids at SK this year, who knows.
  7. Because they are good enough, smart enough and dogonit people like them.
  8. Trinity and HHS have no common opponents but HHS and X have two and the scores are very similar. So I fail to see your logic as to why you think this.
  9. Apparantly the Christian co. coach and a certain coach for the birds were college buddies or something and during the off season last year the CC coach was given a clinic of sorts on the Birds D which is now being utilized in CC.
  10. Well take your two teams that made the state finals and we'll take our four!:fight:
  11. They have two teams that carry the better football.:thumb:
  12. I guess you consider a 15 point loss a destructive loss, especially after losing your Mr. Football candiate running back. BTW if I am not mistaken they were ranked 8th nationally at the time and lost to the Ohio big school state champion in double OT in the playoffs. So they pretty much are one of the best teams in the nation, IMO.
  13. There is not a team in the nation IMO that would destroy the Birds let alone in the state.
  14. Well as a whole NKY is way better but the two powerhouses from Louisville are probably the two best teams in the state. You can typically find several great matchups every week in NKY and I think overall the best football in the state is played in Campbell, Kenton and Boone counties.:ylsuper:
  15. Heard that too, I wonder how Dale liked that? I agree it won't be enough, but congrats on a great season CC.
  16. I am pretty much in complete agreement with this post. I hope SK can pull off the upset but I see a 48-14 win in favor of T.
  17. 1. Trinity 2. HHS 3. Bell Co. 4. NCC 5. Simon Kenton 6. Central 7. Christian Co. 8. Beechwood 9. Ft. Campbell 10. Breathitt Co. 11. Bullit East 12. Hazard
  18. They may just have the best player in NKY but this is the same team that had to squeek one out against Camel county late in the season to get the 4th seed in a very average NKY 6a district. They have had a wonderful run, I just can't see them matching up against the football machine that is T. I think it will be very similar result as when Ryle made it a few years ago.
