  1. That truly was a great game between two really good teams. I think our momentum changer was when our QB shut down. That has got to be dishearting when the team is working so hard and the QB doesn't have a mental clock and gets repeated delay of games or when he isn't paying attention and fumbles the snapped ball. GRC started to recover again after those back to back errors then we GRC gets to the other end of the field he gets sacked in the back field instead of scrambling out. Many times he would have a receiver WIDE open down field waving his hands in the air to get passed the ball and the QB wouldn't even see him. The line was doing their job but Dini has GOT to get rid of that ball in a more timely fashion. Once he starts getting sacked he gets so frazzled he can't even swing it out to his RB properly. I think the QB was the game changer that made GRC lose momentum last night.
  2. True. Mason scrambled but yes, alot at the wrong time. I didn't think his passing was that great, or his choice to pass. Dini passes (and would do better w/ more experienced line) but doesn't scramble. I can have a dream just like anybody else I just wish we had a QB that did both pretty well. I can't wait until tonight and see what happens. I hope Williams has another great game! Go GRC!! By the way, has anyone heard an update on Tyler Creteau (sp?) and how he is doing today, after that nasty injury he had in last night's Freshman game?
  3. LOL Handing the ball to Williams works everytime. I just hope Williams can hold up against MC. He is such a great kid that is able to "make things happen" on the field. Good luck Williams! Good luck GRC!
  4. Unfortunately, I too believe this is true!!
  5. I think Ryan is the glue of this team. Everybody has their own take on it, but I truly don't think Dini is a major asset to this team. He is average at best. I think his swing routes to Williams and Williams hard work makes Dini look good. Dini on his own really isn't doing anything outstanding. I bet he is glad Skinner is his teammate because it seems like the interceptions he has thrown Skinner gets right back on the next play. Skinner has a really good read on the ball. Last year's 0-3 QB, Mason, was alot more athletic than our current. But the main thing I can say about Dini is he doesn't try to make it all about him. He seems to be content letting the older more experienced players take lead. Mason last year could scramble which is something we dont have out of this years QB. Because he can't scramble (speed) he tends to stay in the pocket and let the play develope more. When he is not being pressured he does make a good pass. But he does need to learn to get those 10 or 15 yards when he can. I'm sure he will learn all of this in time. The point of this years players playing as a TEAM has already been made but it's the biggest difference I see from the stands, when comparing this years team to last years.
  6. Madison Central...GRC...Let's work together on this one (then we can rival Friday night ) Try to get as many people as you can to vote for the MCHS vs GRC football game as the channel 36 High School Highlight Reel Game of the week. http://www.wtvq.com/sports/high-school-highlight-reel/ap-poll.html As it stands now: Boyle Co vs Lex Catholic 67% W. Jessamine vs E Jessamine 24.4% Madison Central vs GRC 6.8% Henry Clay vs Lafayette 1.8%
  7. GRC has a great run game. Kinda just wish there was a stronger QB to complement the team. Skinner definately has some great hands, he got every interception in last wk's game. I know MC is a very strong team, but I think GRC can play with them.
  8. Ball Report on 27 this morning said GRC's Ryan Williams is the leading rusher. He is avg. a 1st down a carry. Impressive!!!! He runs hard, cuts on a time and break tackles w/ ease.
  9. I heard it was a VERY physical game and some kids on each side of the field got hurt. Some people at work were talking about it today and said that it was a great football game and both teams played hard.
  10. Here is a photo slideshow showing some of our boys in action. Go GRC http://www.heraldleaderphoto.com/2008/09/12/clark-county-runs-all-over-tates-creek/
  11. It's interesting to see how the media portrays a game. Nothing negative meant here, just an observation. In the Lexington Herald, they show a pic of Dini getting knocked around by TC, whereas the Winchester Sun shows a pic of Dini jumping over a TC player with ease. 12. That is pretty impressive, BUT they haven't been playing 6A teams either. Tomorrow night will be the first time they will be. This will be the real deal. I hope our boys continue to stay focused and have a great season.
  13. Could funding be a reason why PC has to go at it alone and is not bringing in an Off Cord? Just curious...
  14. Hmmmm, you must think he got held back for ACADEMICS!! But didn't he have the honor roll at Conkwright, got held back, transferred to Clark Middle and repeated the same grade there. Stenzel does have skills!! But I tip my hat to Robert Hatton because he has skills AND is shining while playing with HIS class. Although I do cheer for them both in the stands, I AM glad that the state now regulates these things closer and being held back has to be the choice of the schools not just the parents.
  15. Wow, #21 Williams is a force to be reckoned with. He spots his holes and keeps his feet going even when it looks like there is no way out for him, he manages to find his way thru to the endzone. Darius DID do very well in the game. He definately plays hard and is a great asset to the team. I see it was mentioned about his grades. I hope he can keep them up as well. Does this football team have mandatory study halls with tutors there to help the players?? Dini on the other hand I have to disagree with. As long as his line keeps doing the great job they are doing, he looks good. As long as he can stay in the pocket and can throw he will be an asset to GRC. But he can NOT scramble at all. Under pressure he panics, hence the interception on the goal line. Plus this QB can not take a hit at all. If Clark Co can keep him in his pocket he will be an OK QB for the team. Webb, Hisle and Cambell also did a great job last night. Was Webb injured? I thought it was just a charlie horse???
  16. Oh, Wow!! Yeah I remember that!!! EVERYone there watching seemed to at the same time, turn to the person beside them and say what in the world was that about???
  17. So what happened that back then there was a head coach AND an OC, but not now? PC has to do both roles right?
  18. I'm with you Gold...I hope we pull out with the win GRC !!
  19. According to my brother...The scrimmage pretty much went the way everybody thought it would. He analized it as being a young team. Woodford this Friday @ 8:30
  20. Gillespie is not hurt; the coach just went a different way.
  21. I'll also be at the Rec Bowl @ 8pm. I can't even imagine how this one will turn out. (GO GRC!!)
  22. Thank you on the spelling correction. Point made. No, I haven't seen him teach, only heard he hasn't done it in AWHILE, but the lady who he took over her classes had been teaching wonderfully. (so it was said...)
  23. Funny thing is...my nephew plays football and is not even a "basketball" kid, so he never tried out....As an FYI. Everybody is entitled to their opinion...but this information came from another teacher to me....so I'm led to believe that a great teacher got replaced by a coach who had more seniority (and value to the school because of winning basketball seasons.) I love sports as much as the next one, but I still beleive a school is for learning. STUDENT athlete...as in Student first athlete second. I just feel what an injustice to the kids who really want to learn and won't go on to play basketball. On another note. My nephew met the Zollo kid today. Said he was really a down to earth (not show offy) type of kid. Sounds like he will be a nice addition to GRC both on and off the court. Also, funny how Columbia has had not such great seasons lately and people, in the football thread, want to throw this educated man, who had a winning season not very long ago, under the bus...but you say something about the basketball coach who is on a winning streak and people assume your kid didn't make the team or isn't getting much playing time. Funny how that works!! :jump:
