  1. I dont foresee any run by Rowan in Bowling Green if they in fact get there. 16th Region will not prepare them for a run.
  2. I beieve the 2002 game between Trinity and Male was at the Fairgrounds and not Papa John's.
  3. Manual's schedule for 2009 is quite ambitious. They lot some offensive talent with Harness, a three year QB, and Hawk their best RB. What underclassmen can take their place to compete with this schedule? Their two losses to St. X. were by a combined score of 110-0. They will definitely be tested severly. They will need to make a huge step up to compete throughout the season. Good luck for taking the risk to get better!
  4. Great win tonight for the Kats!! Really love the way Coach Brooks and Joker have made the quality Kentucky high school talent a priority in their recruiting efforts. Sure hope Deuce Finch and Jordan Whiting were watching tonight. What a way to cap off recruiting if the Kats could secure these two Louisville stars. Obviously UK needs great running backs and someone to follow in Micah's footsteps. The grit and determination of Brooks' teams is admirable. With the talent coming in next year, UK may reach bigger and better bowls.
  5. 7th Region - Anyone have any update on the new gym under construction at St. X? When will it be finished? The exterior looks great!
  6. ST. X has a number of talented juniors: RB - Jermiah Neal RB - Michael Montano DE - Jermaine Dorsey QB - Brian Buehner DB - Nick Sears K - Wyatt Gray DB - Will Lawson
  7. Justin Green's speed is too much for SK to deal with. Final: Male 34 - SK 13.
  8. St. X's two Mr. Football finalists put up some great numbers again tonight. QB Matt Brutcher was 10-16 passing for 114 yards and one touchdown. Deuce Finch 15 rushes for 135 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. One pass reception for 15 yards. Two punt returns for 81 yards including a 65yd return for a touchdown. Total of 231 all purpose yards and 3 TD's.
  9. Coach Bruner is a class guy. The NC program was in the pits when he took over. He was a cornerstone in helping build that great St. X defense in 2004.
  10. I say St. X's QB Matt Brutscher, a very deserving finalist for Mr. Football, has another great game. Matt's ability to stretch the defense all year with pinpoint passing has added a tremendous dimension to a powerful offense. It is impossible to key just on Deuce Finch because Brutscher and his array of receivers will burn you!
  11. Some Tiger numbers: Deuce Finch 17 carries for 198 yards and 5 touchdowns! Matt Brutscher 7 for 8 passing for 128 yards. Austin Jones 6 receptions for 120 yards. Tigers move through the air and on the ground in impressive fashion. Next up is district foe Manual.
  12. Malachi...If Nelson could have made a tackle in the first six minutes of the game maybe X would not have reached 60. It takes two to create such a lopsided outcome.
  13. It was a well known fact throughout the statdium that ST. X scored their first 35 points midway through the first quarter before Nelson County actually tackled a ST. X player. Scores came on a fumble return by the defense, a punt return and three long offensive scores on the first play of drives. Never tackled once! Don't think I will ever witness that again. Maybe the KHSAA should ask Bridget DeVries to attend some of these 1st round mismatches to get a real feel of the disparity that a six class system is creating.
  14. I think Male gets back on track -- Male 24-Manual 20.
  15. Some of the best talent in Louisville on display at St. X. tonight. Junior quarterback Chris King is impressive the way he fakes the handoff, pulls it and turns the corner quickly. Once at the corner his tremendous speed is hard to contain. He had 21 carries for 203 yards. Mister Cobble, Ridge Wilson and Tim Patterson all make Central a stern test for anyone. Deuce Finch led St. X. with 185 yards on 12 carries and 3 touchdowns. This game was very physical and will prepare both teams for the playoffs. Good luck to Central....they are not afraid to play anyone.
  16. Any word on the medical condition of the PRP player that EMS took to the hospital? I thought it was a pretty classy thing that Coach Glaser did when he gathered his team for a prayer as the young man was being loaded in the EMS van and taken away.
  17. Deuce Finch - 7 carries for 127 yards rushing, plus a 95 yd kickoff return. Brian Buehner - 2 carries for 111 yards and 2 TD's Jeremiah Neal - 9 carries for 100 yards and 1 TD. X runs only 35 offensive plays for 417 total yards and 57 points. The offense is so diversified with a stable of weapons.
  18. St. X is averaging 53 points a game and allowing only 3 points game. I'll go with it: St.X-53 - PRP -3
  19. St. X opened up a 49-0 halftime lead. Ten Tigers accumulated 300 yards rushing on only 25 attempts. They completed 4-6 passes for 59 yards. Total offense of 359 yards on only 31 plays. Deuce Finch and Brian Buehner led the way with two touchdowns apiece. Buehner also passed for a touchdown to Steve Goodwin. Daylen Hall returned an interception 65 yards for his second touchdown return of the year. Hats off to Butler, they hung in there and competed. Their numbers are up this year. I hope Coach Carmony can get the program back to where it has been in the past. They have a proud tradition. Let's hope that the injured Butler player is okay.
  20. Awesome job Guru! Check out photos #800-#804. It is really difficult to ascertain if the ball crossed the goalline on Trinity's touchdown. The official was at the five yard line at the time of the catch, not looking down the goalline. There was alot of debate at the game as to whether the ball crossed the goal. Not trying to start anything it's just difficult to tell for sure.
  21. The kids (and the coaches) love the uniforms. They put in all the hard work, let them enjoy the moment.
  22. Boston College came to watch practice Wednesday..how did that turn out? Deuce would look good in Blue and White also.
  23. Keys to the game were that St. X. came out immediately with the spread offense and Brutscher was on target from the start. Trinity was forced to defend the entire field sideline to sideline. Linebackers were out of postion several times. The running of Jeremiah Neal kept the Rocks off balance. He had 82 yards in the first half to more than compliment Deuce's 70 first half yards. Trinity loaded the box when St. X went wishbone with 1st and goal from the 8, forcing X to settle for a field goal and a 10-0 halftime lead. St. X coaches made great adjustments after halftime assserting their ground game with Deuce. He had several gains in the 12-23 yard variety. When they got inside the 20 they attacked with the pass and stayed out of the wishbone. Brutscher hit Goodwin and Baushcer with 13 and 18 yard bullets for scores that put the game out of reach. Matt Brutscher is probably the most underrated player in Louisville this year. He really makes this X team formidable with his ability to strecth the field with his arm. This really opens up the ground attack for Deuce and Neal. Good win for the Tigers! Enjoy the weekend and get ready to go back to work.
  24. Bear 78 - no it really didn't have to be 57-0. It wouldn't have either if not for 7 Manual turnovers and 98 yards of total offense. It's difficult to keep from scoring when the opposition gives you that many more possessions via turnovers. The score was 43-0 late in the third quarter when the St. X. defense recovered a Ram fumble in the endzone to make it 50-0. The final score came on an off tackle dive that went 61 yards for the final score.
  25. Jimmyref...Excellent analysis. Wish more people could analyze a game the way you do. It's obvious you know both teams well. Instead of spouting off about one team or another your knowledge and insight are a real benefit to those who read the threads on this site. Thanks!
