Rush all day at work, rush to the game site and tailgate. With a great feeling after rushing around all get to sit down with Harlan County Black Bear Nation and relax before the game. Oh Yeah all day long listening to thunderstruck, back in black, enter sandman, etc. over and over.

The Black Bears had the week off to adjust some things that went wrong against Breathitt, I'm sure they are ready and foaming at the mouth to get back onto the field. Go Bears!

Harlan County plays Grayson VA on Halloween, How did they actually look against Hazard? Against a good Hazard team 16 points tells me they were a decent team unless those points came later in the game with 2nd or 3rd string in.

Has Whitley played Letcher Central? I would imagine that would be a good game.

I think it takes a good speaker system and a good selections of music. I enjoy thunderstruck, welcome to the jungle, etc. I also like just good stadium music and funny quotes that may add to the atmosphere during the game. As for the band, I think the old school bands are there for the football teams, but I feel like the bands, dance teams, and cheerleaders of today are there for their own show. A lot of times they don't even pay attention to the games. Last week our QB fumbled on 4th down and as he walked off the field the band started playing. What? My feeling is that every one should be there to support the football team. But thats just me sorry I got off topic. I think music really helps.

I don't think any support of our team is excessive this football team alone has brought Cawood, Evarts, and Cumberland fans together more than anything could have like HDE said. While I'm mentioning HDE I have to disagree with our fans not giving Breathitt respect, I as a fan as I have said many times I expect my Black Bears to win every time they take the field, if they don't win I don't leave at halftime and a lot of people left but a lot of people stayed in the cold rain. There was even a few fans in the parking lot tailgating umbrella in hand after the game because that's they way its been all season. As for the tailgating we have done it every game at it hasn't done anything but show our support and the helmet had these boys ready to play but Breathitt hadn't played up to expectations their first 4 games and decided to take it out on us. Too Bad. Bring on Powell County, Black Bear Nation will be there! Go Bears.

My hat certainly goes off to Breathitt. Controlled the Black Bears all night long. I am among the hundreds that thought this would be a better game. Looks like Breathitt decided to wake up and play Breathitt football, I just hate they decided to do it against Harlan County. I by no means believe anything was overboard it has been a long time since Harlan County has had a turnout like this at a football game. Great atmosphere (the first quarter) just couldn't tackle. We will lick our wounds learn from this and rebound. Hey we are still 3-2 not to bad for a team playing their first 5 games. Keep your heads up Bears, You got beat by a quality team and can learn from this. GO BEARS!

The excitement in Harlan County is unbelievable. The tailgating faithful may have a hard time getting a spot. As for the three month ago debate about 3A or 5A is that everyone likes to point out Harlan County is a 5A playing a 3A schedule, but they seem to forget that this team is a brand new team still getting used to new teammates, new players, schemes, etc. They are only 4 games old and people talk of them being a 5A powerhouse (That's next year) when they are still learning. I think I already gave a prediction it was 21-17 HC or something like that. A lot of people were worried how all of these communities were going to get along and I think this football team has had a lot to do with the attitude toward this new school and had a part in bringing all of us together. GO BEARS!!!!

I'm with HBO on this one! We as Harlan County Black Bear Fans should expect our team to win every Friday. We have a good team to be proud of! Our defense is better then what a lot of people give it credit. I also think our secondary has improved every game. Breathitt better come ready to play. And if you don't expect the Bears to win Friday don't come where I'm tailgating we will run you off! It will be a tuff game but I look for the Black Bears to come out with a hard fought win. They will have the added advantage of this being their first home game the first time they have played together in Harlan County. The excitement or emotions what ever you want to call it will give the Black Bears an edge. Also The Black Bear Nation has had a good crowd at every game so far and I would imagine a lot more people will be out for this one so we will have a huge crowd cheering our Black Bears to victory. Bears win 28-17. Go Bears!!!!!

I think the Black Bears underestimated Lee County a little as I think some of us did also and felt like they didn't have to play to beat them, but Coach Larkey marched them up the hill at halftime and lit a fire in them. The D was very impressive in the second half. They will need that focus and a little more grit next Friday but as good as they have looked, Breathitt will be in for a battle. Also the Helmet will be out for its first game. Go Bears!

Does Lee have anything other than the Graham kid? He is fast but I believe we have a complete team! It could be a close game but a lot of people were calling for a close one the last two games. Black Bear Nation will be out in full force food before and after the game. I hear we are taking our band along for this game. Bears win 38-16. Go Bears.

Couldn't make the trip and hated it! I pouted like a baby all day. I was there in spirit though, thought about grilling on the tailgate of my truck listening to the radio in the driveway but then people would have wondered what that idiot on the hill was doing! Impressive win...Go Bears

The Black Bears are in the 2nd year of a two year scheduling plan which is how it is done (By KHSAA) They chose Cawood's 3A schedule because Evarts and Cumberland were 1A schools. Next year they will be a 5A in a district with Letcher Central, Perry Central, Clay County, and North or South Laurel and I may have left someone out. Go Bears

They Also play Johnson Central. They would play Bell County but they took their ball and went home as well. I think any of the teams on the schedule could beat Harlan. I'm also curious about the players that came from Harlan that play major roles for the Bears. I'm not saying that they're not any but I just don't know who they are. What does Harlan's middle school schedule look like.

I was just throwing something out there people can scratch their heads forever trying to figure out why a kid wont play. But for some reason kids may not like his system or maybe even an assistant. Who knows.

The Black Bears still have most of the players from Cawood that beat this team last year plus the talent from Cumberland and Evarts. This is consolidation baby, The Black Bears are a different team also. They may not have a year together under their belt but they do have two impressive showings in the first two games they have played. Go Bears
