  1. Late Thursday night, Fox 56 in Lexington reported that Coach Lawson resigned - has anyone heard anything?
  2. Is it " Weeding Out" guys that wanted to hold a jersey or is it "Chasing Off" Kids who earned the right to wear the jersey but wanted to play other sports?
  3. My son played in the Border Bowl with him and said that WKU was were he was headed to.
  4. The Border Bowl was a great opportunity for all of the kids but having this game played in January prevented all D1 and only D2 Coaches from the same state as the game as played in from watching the game in person. NCAA rules do not allow any coaches from watching an "All-Star game in person during this years time period. If this December 12 2010 game holds true it looks like all college coaches could attend. 5. You have to wish him well and great luck but if Oliver Lucas(Football) and Champ Ligon(B-Ball) both leave to pursue other opportunities, what can a person glean from the relationship with the principal? :isurrender:
  6. Another point to consider on walk ons - This is highly political in that a walk on may have better skills and abilities than a scholly player but never make the team.
  7. 100% Agreement and here is another point that I witnessed 1st hand. For the most part, our kids got the opportunity to meet other talented athletes from around the state . In my son's case, he had a GREAT TIME and has already got new friends requests and vice versa on Facebook. My son actually told his parents how funny certain kids were, and what the really have in common as and I watched the interaction between these kids on the sidelines, which was very cool. I took pictures and have several where he and his pal were yakking in up with Rees, and laughing with Dylan Curry . both kids he never met before. The scoreboard reflected a Kentucky loss and I think we know why this happened and who was culpable - the smiles on these kids faces , the new friends they met reflect a much greater Kentucky :banana:victory!!
  8. I say 3 is a fairly accurate number and probably no more than 5.. Hayden probably had almost twice the carries as Rees.
  9. No Disagreement here - I had the opportunity to watch this game and see a bunch of great Kentucky talent play and some great Kentucky HS players play a lot less. I understand the point and though about Lucas Witt not playing - In reality, Kurt Warner could have played QB but had the same results with the play calling. I can only hope that the KY coaches thought process was to showcase those kids who did not have commitments from larger schools. This was a great event and opportunity for some stellar athletes to get additional looks but IMO, there were several great players like Rees and others who did not get any help or benefit from the coaches play selection..
  10. The kids from Kentucky did a great job - the adults is a whole other story...
  11. there were no D1 schools in attendance as this is a "NCAA D1 Quiet Period" and they are not allowed to view all star games. According to 1AA or NAIA rules, only colleges within the state are allowed to attend - My son talked to Union College and that was pretty much it. Last time I saw the option used this much was in the movie, We Are Marshall !!
  12. I believe Roller's injury was shoulder related. And as for Quainoo I think i was wrong saying he had an injury, so i assume he just didn't get on the field too much.
  13. It's great for all the kids and I am sure they all made new friends and had a great time but I agree with the post - The offense consisted of east and west passing with nothing vertical. The field was very sloppy but it certainly did not hurt the Tenn team..
  14. http://www.ky-tn-borderbowl.com/2010_players_and_coaches Miles Simpson elected not to play as did Jordan Hansel from Simon Kenton
  15. yes - Just got back from dropping two players off - Stadium is small and 5000 people would seem to be an overload though it appears to be a great setting. If you live in Central or Southern KY, WKYT and WYMT (CW) will carry the game live at 12:00 PM. After spending 10 minutes at check in. I have no doubt the kids will be treated as royalty and have a great time.. GO KENTUCKY!! I even saw a USC cap in a truck stop and tried to bribe the kids to wear in presence of the Tenn kids:ylsuper:
  16. I saw a earlier post saying Miles Simpson has a visit with Illinois on Saturday?
  17. I can speak for the last two years only and parents were NOT the problem or undermining the coaching staff.
  18. I wish the new coach and parents at Man O War Blvd nothing but good luck and great things as they will need it - Having been there the last ten years I have a great understanding of how things operate and who is control. What I can say without any doubt is the prior coaching staff did their utmost to move the ball foward and establish accountability and they had very limited talent. As a previous post pointed out, the redistricting has inhibited the availability of talent at PLD. People that beleive there is enormous talent in the PLD district area are very mistaken.
  19. Even better - how about someone on the school board that Stu reports to having a kid on the team :isurrender:
  20. WOW!! Where is that stated? It's no where on the web site?
  21. Here is last years roster - seems like there was representation from Northern, Central and Eastern Kentucky.. So whats the burn about someone from Holy Cross coaching? It's all for the kids so it can't be all bad? What am I missing?:idunno: http://www.ky-tn-borderbowl.com/2009_player_rosters
  22. I've had three kids go through Dunbar the last 9 years and can attest that athletics is a mess, the principal is the primary cause of all the athletics problems at this school. The football coach, a man of great character resigns - Whats the common thread with all these problems? The Principal and the entire school system!!
  23. Amen Golfer... The parents (Plural) are not the reason for the latest change in coaches nor is the booster club.. :isurrender::isurrender:
