Northern Kentucky Coach-of-the-Year
I do agree that COY is about who does the best with what they get. But CCH was to good and had too many good players to go down as early as they did.

NewCath 9 CovCath 4 (9th Reg. Finals)
If the CCH coach didn't scare off Shover I believe he could be in this role.

Who are your Top players for '08
For Hc the key will be RB/SS Andy Roenker, MLB Brad Herald and WR/QB/DB Markel Walker. But there is a lot more talent behind them.

Meant to write PLAY, don't know where my head was.

Cov Cath 7 Beechwood 6
If a kid can't handle someone saying his name on BGP, then I don't know how he could pitch in a game that big.

Holy Cross/Beechwood Predictions
I forgot about that game and stand corrected. But I still feel that when Roenker is on, you will be pressed to find a better pitcher in the region.

Top returning players in NKY
Mark Nie got hurt half way through the year and played tackle were previously stated Donnie Stowers played and Holy Cross bound Eric Oldiges played. And Andy Merrit is a guard who was stuck behind a senior, unfortunatly being a senior means you start at HC last year, and the other kid I mentioned Bernie Gripsover. But Merrit still played about half the game at alternating guards.

Holy Cross/Beechwood Predictions
The only team to hit Roenker for 7 runs was in the covcath game. Bad defense was a large part to that. So there isn't much evidence supporting Roenker giving up that many runs, especially since Beechwood's offense isn't dominating.

Throwing at batters.
All that needs to be said.:thumb:

Holy Cross/Beechwood Predictions
With Roenker on the hill, Hc has a very good chance. But i wouldn't doubt a duel between Roenker and Elliot. But I think Reardon and the offense pump out a few more runs than Beechwood can get out of roenker. Hc wins 3-1 is my prediction.

Holy Cross 7 Beechwood 3 (JV Tourney)
That is an opinion, a very correct opinion. But yes if anyone has watched JV level games this year, numerous game changing very questionable calls have been made. I feel alot is not only due to poor umpires but the lack there of. Of all the JV games i have seen this year only a handful have had two umpires. It's tough for a guy behind the plate to effectively call a fair game himself.

Who Will Be HR King in No. Ky.
Adams has come out of no where it seems. Anyone have his stats for last year?

NKY JV Teams
Pretty solid list, HC lost to Scott tonight though. So they will need to get back to their winning ways very soon.

NKY JV Teams
Ok I understand better. But yea if they get a few of those players back for the jv tornament it could be very interesting.

No you are definatly right the offseason can make or break teams like HC or even holmes who have the great athletes but need size. Also HC is working hard theres no doubt, I know first hand, and the 10-0 freshman team will start to shine on to varsity, I think it should be another great year of football around here. Thanks for the Cov Cath stuff to.

This is all very true about these other teams and how we failed to match up with them size wise last year. But if anyone watched the HC jv games they saw 6'3 240+ Andy merrit, 6'2 260+ Mark nie. If you match them up with one of the smaller but i believe top 3 tackle in nky donnie stowers(6'2 210) and bernie gripsover(6'1 290) from the varsity line, we will match up just fine. And as i have already stated before, HC might have the most talent on O of any team we have around here. Also one more little bit, cov cath and hc are supposedly to have their first showdown in two years. No doubt the game I am looking forward to the most.

2008 Holy Cross (Covington)
There recieving core will be just fine. But there real problem will be finding its identity. They have a few solid running backs coming backs in Brad Cooper who made the most of all his carries last year and possibly Brayson Smith. But they need to find a quarterback. The three possibilities are Roenker and Walker who both saw qb time as freshman(10-0) with Walker getting the most snaps. But last years jv qb Conrad Easton might step up, it should be an interesting camp.

NKY JV Teams
Thanks and here is a shout out to cardsnation for the pick me up I could not remember who they lost to. Also I am not attacking Cov Cath but every jv team has lost players to varsity not just them. HC has three juniors on jv and all three have been recently playing some varsity and soph Roenker plays only varsity for obvious reasons. So Cov Cath is not the only one. It is every team.

NKY JV Teams
HC JV team is about 11-3 but don't quote me on the win total. They have beat good Ccov Cath and Ryle teams twice each convincingly and look forward to a long run in the jv tornament.

I have to admit it is tough finding many holes in the colonel attack right now...there rotation seems to be tough.
