  1. Hopefully Ryle's field will be in better shape then the other day.
  2. Pretty suprising, good win for Bellevue! Always like to see Cov Cath get beat
  3. I wouldn't imagine the coach would give them a choice anyway, but why wouldnt they want to play? Dont you have to play the better teams to improve??
  4. I think Boone will beat Ryle in their first round match up. I could very easily see either team winning this game and the district tournament. Conner took the 1 seed and has been hot of late but that doesn't mean they are the necessary favorite in my eyes. I also am curious as to why the tournament itself has now been moved to Ryle?? Conner, who was supposed to hold the tourney this year, has done a few things in preparation (announcer, new scoreboard, field work) and should get the chance to host. Ryle's field is not much nicer then Conner's at all. If the tournament MUST be changed then why not move it to St. Henry who was the nicest field in the region?? That doesn't make alot of sense to me? If I remember correctly Boone was the host last year and their field was nowhere near prefection.
  5. The coach probably wanted to get a game no matter who it was against, just to have a game. The kids also probably agreed with the coach scheduling this game, even against Cov Cath, because they wanted to play. And if they "had no chance to win" then will obviously not stand a chance once the district and regional tourneys come around. However he should not have yelled about it for an hour, nor should he have cussed at his players. Accidents happen and words slip out in the heat of the moment, but to continously curse at your players for a bad game is just wrong.
  6. Final. After being postponed previously after 2 innings, they picked back up and finished today at Boone in this district seeding game. The cougars were winning 5-3 after being postponed and tacked on 3 more runs today. Junior Will Shuttleworth threw a tremendous game limiting the Rebels to probably 3-4 hits.
  7. I agree. And after hearing what a few Raider parents had to say, it seems like it is all about me and my stats in Union and not about the team.
  8. Especailly when the ball was played poorly by the right fielder (If your talking about the last play.)
  9. Nevermind, KHSAA website answered that question for me. 13-2 not to shabby!
  10. What is there record amungst their NKY opponents now? It's got to be pretty darn good as I don't remember them suffering an NKY defeat in quite sometime?
  11. Conner has indeed hit the ball well of late as they were up 8-0 in the 5th in this one. However these games mean almost nothing if they can't perform come tourney time, and that goes for all teams.
  12. Which was yesterday? But nice to see the birds turn around after yesterday and to Zac Muench doing work.
  13. Tyler Brake of Conner is certainly up there with any of them.
  14. I think it will likely be a repeat of last season.
  15. I agree, Conner-Ryle should be a good one.
  16. Conner brought the whoopin' stick today. Sophomore Jake Samad gets credited with the win. Sophomore Austin Pugh also had a great day going 2-3 with a 3 run homer and grand slam! Towles started today for the birds and gave up 9 runs in 2 1/3 innings and was yanked. Good win the the cougars and keep it rolling tommorrow at Ryle!
  17. Jeff is a very solid team from Indiana. I believe they are ranked in the top 10 in the 4a state rankings in Indiana.
  18. Yes he does I forgot to add him to that list my mistake.
  19. I believe Adams from Scott has 6, as well as Farris, Maile, and Muench all with 5.
  20. Honestly I think it has alot to do with previous coaches at Conner. Not until Coach Arlinghaus came aboard last year was there even any concern of the shape of the field. With that being said, he can only do some much. Last year he was scolded by the board after he let parents put a new roof on the home team dug outs. Not to mention Bluegrass teams play home games there all summer. It would be nice to see the craters filled in the infield, but the outfield does seem to be in pretty decent shape this year.
