I don't understand why they're not playing it today. Every other district starts today. I know HC has graduation Tuesday but BW-Holmes can and are playing then. Doesn't make sense, especially with the weather.

I was standing right behind the backstop and felt the call could have gone either way on the hit batsman. Hempel didn't react like he was hit so I thought it didn't catch him. I disagree with the Ryle posters above that Roesel shouldn't have been thrown out. He was warned and then said, "You can warn me all you want...." If this would have happened on a discussion between umpire and coach where the whole fan base wouldn't have heard, I'd agree that he shouldn't have been tossed; however, this argument was loud enough for all to hear and Roesel basically cut his .... off in front of the crowd, so I have to agree with the ejection. It's unfortunate that it happened right before districts but I think the burden lies on the coach to watch what he says and not the umpire. Bottom line, first pitch of first batter in the bottom of the first on a questionable hit batter and you get tossed I believe is coaches fault. Also, was very disappointed to see the reaction of one Ryle fan. I believe it was Roesel's dad. He should have been tossed as well. He continued his bantering into the 2nd inning. Hats off to Chris Rolf for disregarding him.

Where oh where is the old guy? I saw him at the game with his scorebook. Well, the people who advertise with him are upset. They're not getting their money's worth! So I've decided to appease them and give my (and I'm sure the old guys) PLAYS OF THE GAME. Here they are: PeeWee's Place Star of the game has to go to ex-CCH Dylan Cottingham with his 2-run bomb and 2 RBI single and his tremendous defensive efforts behind the plate, Gruber Grill Defensive Star would have to go to center fielder Brad Leeke. With man on 1st and 2nd and two outs, Leeke fielded a base hit by Arnzen up the middle and threw a laser to the plate to nail a CCH player to end the inning, and BAWAC Inc. Offensive Stars would have to go to both Austin Bergfeld with his 3 run bomb followed by Cotts and his 2 run bomb in the bottom of the fourth to hammer the nail in the coffin. Shumate pitched the fifth and started the sixth. Leadoff guy in sixth got on with a hit and then Fagel came in. So, 2 hits and 1 ER for Shumate in 1 inn. Fagel was a BB and a hit with 1 ER.

I would agree that they're a good 1-2 combo. The only question is Teegarden's arm. Heard it's bothering him again.
