Funny thing is that BW is not even in the top five but get the number one seed. They beat number 1 HC 8-2 in a seed game and beat number 2 CCH 8-2 in a seed game.

Amazing that they got this game in. I guess the grass infield worked out as envisioned.

 

Well done Tigers and congrats on getting one of the most important one seeds in any district in the state. But don't take the Holmes Bulldogs for granted. You will still need to bring the "A" game to get that win.

Josh Bertke pitched great! Only gave up an infield hit. Run was unearned due to an error. So for the full game, he pitched a 3 hitter, 1 ER.

Josh was the man in the key district games vs. Holy Cross and CCH. Good to see him back getting it done after the hamstring issue early in the season.

I hear he had to gut this one out after a line drive off the ankle as the Tigers batted as the game began in the bottom of the fourth. Gutsy performance young man. To hold this very good hitting HC team to that is incredible. The road only gets tougher from here on out. Every team they face will throw their ace at them I would guess.

 

I have got to question Holtz for walking the lead off hitter with runners on second and third to set up the Gohs home run. I understand setting up the force or double play. I am not sure how many outs there were. Tough call on who to face.
