Courier-Journal Basketball Media day
passtheball replied to passtheball's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Well that's sticking to your guns. We will find out soon enough. They are both good teams, but I don't believe Eastern is that dominate over Sacred Heart. Should be a good one at Eastern in December -

Thanks for having the media day Jason! I know it takes much effort and it is appreciated. -

We shall see. Both teams bring back most of their players from last year with some new additions. Last year they were competitive with each other splitting two games. If Rastern played SHA 10 times would they beat them every time? -

The NKY contingent are truly the definition of a fanatic (fan). Who would've thought this much would be discussed about girls basketball?- 77 replies

They are right there with Manual, so... 1. Male 2.Manual 2A. Eastern 4Sacred Heart Eastern will have a chance to make their case as a top team in the region early in the season when they take on Sacred Heart at home on Dec 15th. -

I picked up on that as well. She will probably be cleared, but even if she isn't Eastern is in the mix of winning the 7th region. I would put them right behind Male and Manual. -

With Mercy losing Anderson to injury, I think they are third best in the region. On any given night they could pull the upset.

Those girls are good and should be very good this upcoming season. Summer wins and loses really don't mean very much.

Sacred Heart lost to Eastern in the regular season by a last second three and then thumped them in the LIT.

I wouldn't count Sacred Heart out. Make beat Sacred Heart by 5 in last year's semi if the regional championship. SHA loses one senior.

Male is loaded with talent which makes them a tough out come tourney time. They will be tested by teams that can force them into turnovers that lead to easy baskets. Most teams won't be able to handle them in a half court offense. I predict that Cameron Browning will step up and have a big freshman year.

7th Region Cats Pause
passtheball replied to passtheball's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
I would think the regional player rankings will change quite a bit by the end of the year. Right now I would move Grace Berger up to at least 4th on the list. Should be a really interesting year in girls basketball for the 7th region. It should come down to the top 5 teams listed for the title. -

Ballard is ranked too high because Bri Mishler was assumed to be at Ballard. She is now enrolled at Eastern. -
