You just don't get it.

It is what it is. Just like the best player doesn't necessary have to play on the best team yet some are saying it's up in the air until after the games this weekend. I thought Mr. Football was supposed to be decided on what the player did during the season. Heck the state rushing and rushing TD leader at the end of the regular season isn't even in the conversation. When was the last time the regular season rushing leader wasn't in the conversation? Yes Virginia he was from a class A school. :laugh::laugh::laugh:

I think you took my post wrong. I think Simpson should win. Not because be played against better competition but because he is the best back I've seen since Shawn Alexander. I just hate when people bring up the class issue. Yes your playing against better competition but you also have better players blocking for you.

While I think Simpson should win, the he played against better competition in Class 6A doesn't count for much with me. Keep in mind he also had D-1 guys blocking for him. My guess is not a lot of the others did. Does anyone know for sure.

Simpson gets my vote. I hope they take into consideration he was hurt the beginning of the year.

Then why post? Since your self employed. On the rare day when you do miss work, do you take the profits made from other employees and divide them among the men that did work. If you keep them then your a hypocrite. Do your employees get vacation time? I don't understand how anyone could be against the coaches useing their personal time for what ever they want.

I think that education has to be first and fore most in our school systems. I think a coach if employed as a teacher should be able to use his or her personal days at their discretion. I think the athletic department if possible should pick up the expense for the trip. I think these coaches play multiple roles in the lives of our young men. I think a little professional development is a good thing. I also think if they have a good time while exchanging ideas with other coaches from around the state this is a good thing. As it can for any team in any given game. I think it's hard to say who is better than who when they haven't actually played. We can all speculate which is part of why we joined BGP. I can come up with the perfect scenario where Beechwood has a chance to beat Mayfield. It all comes down to match ups and how the game starts. Who gets the breaks and who makes their own breaks. You can take the top five or six teams and I think under the right circumstances any one can win. Not saying they would be the best team but in a given game they could win.

Should have. Would have. Could have. It's all about match ups. Sometimes it's really hard to say. Just because so and so played well against a certain team doesn't mean they can beat another team.

Mayfield congratulations on a huge win, and best of luck next week. Beechwood congratulations on a great year. The eight seniors have a lot to be proud of. For so few they took Beechwood a long way. The future is definitely looking bright for the Beechies a lot of talent coming up.

I agree that Trousdale was a great win for Mayfield. I also think some respect, credit or what ever buzz word you want to use should be given for the fact that they were the Defending Tennessee 2A champs last year. On the flip side, maybe not necessary you but some posters don't want to give Beechwood credit for being 2 time defending state champs. I personal do think that being defending state champions gives a team confidence and a little swagger as well as putting a little fear into the competition.

I don't think anyone on here would argue this fact. Does anyone know what the criteria is for Mr. Football? If it is ability or potential I think AC is a lock. If it is this years performance I think some others would have to be considered as well such as Mr. Simpson. What a pleasure for NKY having two legitimate candidates for Mr. Football. Great High School career AC. I'm sure you will be a huge success where ever you end up. Looking forward to following you in the years to come.

Last time I checked Beechwood is still the defending 1A state champs for Kentucky. A class 1A team hasn't beat them for a long time. So if we are going to give a Tennessee team credit for winning last year. The same respect has to be given to Beechwood.

Sounds like Mayfield has about the same size as Bellevue. Beechwood isn't real big but playing against the big boys doesn't seem to bother them. The field on the other hand may. Beechwood has only played on natural grass a couple of times this year. I think the artificial surfaces they play on has been an advantage this year due to their speed and quickness. When we played them in the mud I really thought we had a chance. They got us at their field in the play offs and turned on the after burners. Looked like a total different team.

The best defense is a good offense. Only one I can think of.

Hey your opinion is what I was looking for. I'm not a Beechwood guy but I'm from NKY and Will be rooting for them. I haven't seen Mayfield play how big are they? Bellevue had the size advantage on Beechwood last week but it didn't seem to slow Beechwood down. What type of field does Mayfield have?

What would make you think Mayfield could beat a team of Beechwoods caliber by 3 TD's. Not saying it's impossible just curious what your thinking here. :confused::ohbrother:

Looks like the Beechwood / Mayfield game is the closest game according to your system. If they were to play on a neutral field your system would have Beechwood wining. Is this one of the games you think might go the other way?

Coming from a player that in the early 80's that didn't stay the night before our state championship game and went on to lose. I think you should stay. It can be used as a time for team unity and get away from all the distractions of Thanksgiving. Back then the State Championship game was always the day after Thanksgiving. Either way has it's advantages as Cardinalsvoice08 pointed out in previous post. With the experience coach Rash has being in these situations so ofter in the past I'm sure he will be able to find the best situation for this team.

Nice blog. Well deserved recognition for Buckler. The Bellevue Fans that showed up were just unbelievable. Watching all the fans walk up and hug him after the game was very touching. I think they know he wanted it (going to state) as much for them as he wanted it for himself. The kid just flat out loves football and Bellevue.
