I realize HHS has been head and shoulders above their competition all year but when it comes to the play offs its about how your team is playing now. A perfect example of this is Bellevue. They weren't ranked top 10 most of the year but they are playing their best ball right now and people in class A are taking notice. You can never count Beechwood or NCC out just because they have been their and done that. Their coaching is some of the best around and they know how to get their kids to raise to the occasion. I do agree with you to an extent I do think Highlands will be there. I also think the winner of Beechwood and Bellevue game has a darn good shot at it also. NCC seems to be coming around I think they have found an identity and are ready to show people they are still NCC. Sk has been talked about with the top teams in the state all year so I don't know how anyone could count them out.

Don't count your chickens. Maybe none make it (wouldn't that be a shocker). Maybe 5. Don't be so sure the all mighty will make it, and don't count the little guy out.

While their record has reaped the benefits of moving down a class they are still a better team. If they had moved up to 6A they may not have even made the play offs this year. In that case IMO they would still be a better team than last year. The move down has expedited the excitement around the team but not the fact that they are a better team. That is a direct result of hard work from the players and coaching staff.

I think your talking out both sides of your mouth. While I agree the Fort Thomas league is a good one, quite a few Highlands players have come from NKYFL as you have pointed out. As far as where the players end up it's up to the coach to get the players to stay in their home town.

10 might be a little high. The well won't be completely empty next year. Several very good players in back up rolls this year that have performed very well when given the opportunity. A lot of talent coming in the last couple of years from the youth league also. Will be a lot like this years team starting the year with very little experience.

Coach B don't you think at the very least this game should be a draw? Frankfort has been ahead in polls all year. This will not be an upset if Frankfort wins.

I like your thinking VoR. What is your thoughts on Frankfort being the underdog? Can you really be considered an underdog if you have been ahead in the polls all year? I haven't seen any post from Frankfort fans saying Bellevue should be ranked higher.

I thought the quarterback was coming back? If so that should be huge for the offensive side of the ball. As far as the defensive side? That's yet to be seen. Should be a high scoring game both ways.

I don't understand how that if Frankfort wins this game it will be considered a upset? Frankfort has been ahead in the polls all year. Is this a case where most BGP's feel Bellevue was underrated or Frankfort has been overrated all year? Weaver and Tillman have been out for quite a while now and that shouldn't be having any effect on the polls at this point in the season. Or is Bellevue maybe getting better each week? Any thoughts on this? Quite frankly I liked being the underdog all year. Bellevue kids seem to respond to people who tell them they can't. Look at their team. A quarterback that didn't play the position until he got to High School. He has done a fine job and I believe would have some outstanding numbers if he were in a different system that passed more. A tight end that everyone says is to slow. All he has done is produce all year when called upon. Linebackers that people say are to short have lead what some people say has become one of the better run defensive in the state for class A football. A ruining back that has been told all his life he is to little for football. He leads the state (all classes) in rushing and TD's. An inexperienced line that going into the playoffs has become a strong point of the team. In summation Bellevue is the underdog and Frankfort according to the polls all year should win the game.

Both! Holmes is better and the schedule is weaker. You have to build a program some how. You get better and play a weaker schedule. Weaker schedule means more wins. More wins brings excitement. More excitement brings more players. More players brings better competition at practice. Better practice equates to WINS! Sounds like Holmes has a plan.

I think this young staff did a great job coming into the year. The excitement about playing football was there in the beginning of the year but if you don't have the talent it is hard to keep the momentum going. Not to say that Newport didn't have some good athletes. The real tale will be when the off season comes around and it's time to begin preparation for next year. Will the kids come and put in the hard work? I think they will because the coaching staff seems willing to. You don't rebuild Roam in a day. As much as people want to say about this team was alway good when they were younger this isn't the same team. As I recall the best player from when these kids were young is now a starting LB on the best team in Kentucky. Several other kids have moved away or aren't making the grades to play. It's easy to say they were good when they were young so they should be good now. It doesn't alway translate that way. A lot depends on the situation with the program. When coming into a program in the shape Newport was in you must build from the bottom up. I believe that is what the new coaching staff is trying to do. Give them time.

I hope this isn't tongue in cheek. That would be great if Quan were able to come back. Saw him play last year and was totally impressed with his ability. This would change the game a little. As much as I wish Mr. Weaver the best, I've been there with trying to come back to soon from a major injury, I would encourage him to not expect to be 100% and go out and just enjoy what is left of his senior year. Doesn't Louisville still want him? If so I'm surprised the Frankfort coaching staff would risk his future by getting him hurt again.

Frankfort is a good football team. All Bellevue can do is try to limit their opportunities. Just as Frankfort will try to limit Bellevue's opportunities. Do you think Frankfort is going to say "Let's kick it to Buckler on the Kick off and Punts" no they wont. They will do like every other team has done and manage the game by limiting the opportunities that Bellevue has and kick it away from him. Then D.J. Slater can run one back like he did last week.

dc I see your a relatively new poster on here so you need to learn a couple of things. Try not to call a kid out if your going to be negative. Secondly get your facts straight first. Ludlow was actually one of Buckler's lowest productions of the year, of course he was taken out half way through the third quarter. He actually had more yards against BW. If you saw the BW game I doubt you could have held on the ball in all the mud. His biggest game of the year was against a 2 A school (Lloyd) 364 yards. His 3 rd biggest game of the year was against a 5 A school (Scott) 285 yards. You kind of did get something right Hegge is good enough player to win a game. By the way you even spelled his name wrong. Do us all a favor do your home work and make intelligent post next time.

You might be right with Frankfort at 24. But I don't think you hold Bellevue to 21.

It aint hunting at that point. It's war and that is what I expect out of this game. I think both teams will be up for the battle. Second round of play offs no more easy games.

While I was complimenting your team I would say conceivably but not easily. A lot of thing have to fall into place for a State Championship to happen. A lot of hard work and a little bit of luck.

Win or lose I think everyone has to give it up for a job well done by Frankfort's coaching staff this year. To keep your team mentally in the game while losing player after player is something to be proud of.
