I am going with Hazard on this one.

My thoughts from last night: Elliott is very fundamental and quick. Rose Hill is the better team of the two because of the matchup problems. Rose Hill made no adjustments to win the game at all. Jackson didnt even hardly move in the first half to help matters out and probably got lucky to have the points he did in the second half. Rose Hill is much like Elliott in the fact that all the kids play hard defense and battle on every play. I drove from the 15th Region to watch the game last night and really thought I had wasted some gas the first part of the game, because Rose Hill was up by quite a bit, but Elliott came charging back to make it lopsided the other direction, then Rose Hill battled back to make it interesting in the end. Good game to watch. I will say as a past Varsity coach I am very distured by 2 things: Elliott's player always questioning the Refs, while being allowed to by the Staff and the biggest thing that disturbed me was Rose Hills Coaching Staff. They could have made adjustments and won this game in my opinion. Either way, great game to watch and enjoyed watching both teams. Looking forward to making the trip to Morehead again next year to watch these two battle it out again, and I will be rooting for Paintsville and Elliott County/East Carter at the state tournament.:thumb:

There are a few coaches that feel playing one sport is the way to go in the 14th and 15th region as well. I do hear some of the 16th region teams are extremely bad in Baseball believing that the players should commit year round. Shouldnt take a child's memories away from them, let them play all the sports. I will have to say as well after talking with our High school baseball coach, he was very shocked that Boyd let Crisp go. He had nothing but praise for the kid, must be more to the reasoning.

After watching both teams for the first time, I think Thomas for Ashland is a good player, but not used until too late in the game, where he started forcing every shot. If used properly, he could have had a better night. East Carter Center was impressive, especially knowing someone said he was a Sophomore. I was mostly impressed with the Jackson kid from East, great basketball skills. Points are not always the most important stat. I seen him on quite a few defensive plays that he created a turnover and a few great assist. Congratulations to East Carter, should be a good game against Elliott County in the championship.

That was another thing I noticed as well, was that Rose Hill made a hard charge when the tall Knipp kid was out, and I believe they almost left him out of the game too long. I am not sure why he was sitting out so much, because he was not in foul trouble. By the way, for all the posters that I read earlier in the week that said that Elliott was as good without Knipp is flat crazy after watching them play for the first time. Unless they had a kid that they didnt play. Elliott is a great team to watch, great fundamentals.

Just got back to the 15th Region area after watching the 16th Region Elliott/Rose Hill game and I would like to give my assesment: I would first like to start out by saying that Elliott is a great young team with grit and great basketball skills and will do well in the rest of the tournament, but I honestly feel after watching the game, that the game was Rose Hill's to lose, especially after taking a 10 pt lead. I felt like Elliott made adjustments and rallied on Rose Hill and Rose Hill made no adjustments and had no answers for the run. Euton is going to be special and deserves some praise because he was double and triple teamed all night, in which no one on Rose Hill's team cut to the basket or helped out in those situations. Rose Hill's players looked out of place and confused by their own offensive plays, even Jackson. I honestly was not impressed with Jackson at all, but the fans around me said he was having a off night, even with 17 or so points. I actually believe that Jackson has some game, but like I said it seemed that Rose Hill was trying some new plays or something and was confused. I really dont know why Rose Hill didnt post Jackson up. They did it twice and he scored and drew a foul both times. I was impressed with Rose Hill's role players and they hustled at all times. I was impressed with #44 from Rose Hill as well, but he didnt play much in the second half, not sure of his name. I still think Rose Hill was the best team on the floor tonight, but that is no disgrace to Elliott cause those boys can flat play too. Congratulations to Elliott County and the fans should be proud of them.

Seventh grade? That is incredible that they would put a seventh grader on the squad to start with. What happened to get cut after that many years?

Breathitt is a tough team. Good team chemistry.

Look for rowan to take the title now.

Letcher is the favorite, but look for Hazard to be knocking on the door in the finals.

Everyone in the 14th is pretty excited to play the 16th this year in the playoffs. Everyone here says Greenup and East are the teams to beat. Word in the 14th is that Boyd is way down this year. The 14th should be a little better than normal this year, and ready to head to Applebees.

I just realized the Crisp kid you guys were referring to was the fullback on the football team as well. Wow that kid was a brute, was he any good at baseball?

I dont see coach Hicks going anywhere but at Bath county.

Hatcher always has his kids ready to play this time of year, but I believe Hazard will be a tough win for them.

Is this the Barker kid that was the RB for Boyds football team? If so I seen him when he visited Pike Central-he looked like a good athlete. Does he play basketball too?

How long had this kid been on the team?

Everyone knows you are a quality man and announcer. They were just voicing their Opinion after your voiced your Opinion. Everything is cool bro, just go back to be the great announcer that you are. Just give a big shout out to the Lady Vikings as they are holding the Trophy.

I believe I read correctly that Rose Hill has 2 or 3 division 1 prospects, so I would say you might be wrong, but honestly can't say because I have never seen the Pettitte kid play.

Not sure of why so much rebellious nature in your post. I believe everyone was just assuming that a incident would cause a firing and maybe that is not true. The reports that I have saw led to a 5 day Suspension and that is all I have seen, but no sense in getting too wound up about the situation. Everyone is just discussing what if's from what I have read. But I will state that there is no comparison between Breeden and Daniel. Advantage - Breeden

I was unfamiliar with the situation, but do know now after the google search. That is crazy. I am a little confused though, how many boys does Daniel have? I though his son already graduated.
