I agree with you but you still can't help who is on your schedule, you may think you have a great team to play and they end up not being very good that particular season. Yes, you can play teams with great tradition but year to year teams are different. Many teams that are powers play weak non-district schedules. Reguardless wins get your program going and get kids interested, without winning you never have that excitement. Just my opinion, a win is a win.

You sure aren't an Eagles fan, true facts yet coming into the season nobody said Fairview would be any good. They can't help what other teams have nor can anyone else. You play your schedule and a win is a win. Raceland has a great football team, but you shouldn't downgrade programs just because of who they play. In the words of Herman Edwards you play to the win the game period. I happen to think Fairview has a fine football team and a fine coaching staff. Good luck Eagles and the rest of the area teams.

Raceland will be good but not great like this season. Many teams will be able to beat them next season that aren't close this season. No way Raceland is better next season than this season. Too much senior experience, strength, etc. with the seniors they will lose. They will be good but nothing like this special group they have this season. You only get one of these teams once every so often especially at a single A school.

I disagree with that statement, Fairview could have named the score but had some crapping issues in that game, and Powell is a much better team than Lewis. I wouldn't say they could've beaten either one of those teams, West they had a chance. Fairview is 4-1 and a top 10 program in single A, Powell is a much improved programs as well. So I would disagree with that statement, but Lewis is much improved. Good luck to all teams.

Thomas is an outstanding back, 280 yards against LCA and Nicholas. He is a talent and Fairview will have a hard time with him. It's basically for the number 3 seed in that district. With LCA and Raceland deciding number one and two.

Man do you watch football any? Prestonsburg is very good, Belfry? Are you kidding me they are loaded. Both of these teams Lawrence has played tougher than anytime last season. Coach Salmons has this team improving and they will be okay for district play.

You are kidding right? Coach McPeek is doing a great job with the boys, Raceland has a great team and they are very experienced. Congrads to the Rams, and the Eagles for playing hard through a tough time as most of the players knew Mr. Morrison well.

Didn't mean to open a can of worms haha, just my opinion. I would rather have a program like Russell rather than Raceland, I agree they have a great history but the ultimate goal is state championships and Raceland falls short in that category.

Why would Fairview want what Raceland has, they haven't been to a state championship game, and didn't win the district last season. Overall Raceland is a fine football program yes, but they aren't the kings of football. Come on!

Completely disagree with you but thats what this forum is all about. Raceland is very predictable just like most high school teams, don't have enough time not to be in certain offenses. Russell is about as predictable as anyone in the area yet year in and year out they win. As far as Fairview goes, what makes you think they don't have great coaches? Just because they are young?

Also, all coaches scout their opponents to the best of their ability. Raceland has a great coaching staff I agree, but so does Fairview, Russell, Ashland, Boyd Co, it all comes down to the Jimmy's and the Joe's. Anyone who understands football knows that, coaching is very important but you must have players.

Every offense is predictable, I can tell you right now Raceland is going to hand it to Carver and Denton. Just like Fairview will tell you they are going to run Shelton and Jones. No offense RamCat as I think Raceland will win, but especially in high school all offenses are predictable. Fairview is averaging over 30 points a game so they must be doing something right.

I agree that the competition hasn't been very good for Fairview, but I have seen Ashland play and they aren't the best I have seen. I think Raceland obviously is better they beat them, Russell is better, Fairview is better, and it will be a great game with Boyd County and Ashland. So Raceland hasn't played an extraordinary tough schedule either, even though I think the Rams will win by 2 TD's Friday. Good luck to both teams and may they stay injury free.

Raceland has to be the favorite in this game, they are ranked #3 in single A, and have a very experienced team. Fairview is much improved I believe but to ask them to beat Raceland is going to be a tough chore. If I'm not mistaken Fairview wasn't supposed to be any good this season correct?

Congrads to the Eagles and Coach McPeek on a 3-0 start. Will be huge underdogs next week but I'm sure the Eagles will compete against the Rams.

Raceland will roll over East Carter, if Huffine is okay then it may be closer than people think. Fairview could have scored 80 if they wanted to from what I was told.

Russell has a very good offense, but the defense is the worse I have seen in several years. They will have a run in the playoffs like always as the district is terrible this year, but they will have a hard time stopping really good teams.

Lewis Co. played several players that played in the varsity game last Friday night, but are getting better. Fairview has 16 freshman that is mainly the JV squad. Freshman going against juniors is a major mismatch but that's life when you are a small school.

Raceland should dominate just about everyone on their schedule, and they should win the district. Even though I believe their district is one of the better ones in the state for single A. There really is no easy opponents in my opinion.
