I agree. As a coach I kept 25 sec on my watch. Other team went over 3 plays in a row. White hat told me he told back judge to give them 30 seconds. This white hat became an assigning sec. For a short time!

Always enjoy reading your comments Daddy Cat. There are always a few fans everywhere that think if we do it it's OK but heaven forbid someone do it to us. Payne was the big difference. Wburg loses several seniors but will also have some good players returning so next year will again be a toss up.

Know rules, mechanics and HUSTLE. It truely has been amazing to me over the 30 years I've coached and officiated how many officials don't know the rules, where they are suppose to be and what they are responsible for. So many are simply lazy and do not try. Officials in Ky need to be held accountable. They need to be rated by unbiased source. Also, I think officials should not call with the same crew each week. I think white hat should be given a game and individuls officials should be assigned to him.

Just a quick check showed Highlands opponents record to date was 34-33. I could have missed by couple. They are also playing Ryle 2 times which is a good team . I know everyone is afraid of Highlands but I think with their tradition they could have found someone in KY, TN, OH that would have played them instead of Ryle twice.:popcorn:

I thought Paintsville alignment of 1A made alot of sence. Also I think it's amazing how the Mod's can make fun of LC and JC but if anyone rags FTH, oh my!

Lynn Camp has players injuried. WOW this is a 1st!!!!!!!!!!!! LC still has a very good team and Coach Mitchell, 1 of the best coaches ever. LC should win this game 28-14.

If he had knee on ground and control of ball he should have been down. I believe once the ball touched the ground then roughing the punter is off but personal foul could be called like roughing the passer

A 4A should have a 1A number. Beating them by 1 last year. News said LCA had 9 players suspended. 9 players to a 1A team is like 22-23 for a 4A team

Are there 4 schools in FTH district that field these teams or can any kid in NKY come and play in this league?

I like the idea but also like the way it is. I know spring sport athletes being pressured to practice football in spring is a problem for spring sport coaches. 3 things that could improve this would be 1. any player on a spring roster CANNOT practice spring football. 2. any player on spring roster can only pracice half the practices. 3. any player on spring roster CANNOT practice in full gear, only a helmet.

Not saying it's not a good post but I've coached for 23 years and been around it for more and I've seen lots and lots of coaches who had fun and where enthusiastic, many who did not have good teams and great tradition. I was lucky enough to sit down with Coach Mueller in Cincinnati at a clinic 1 time and was impressed but what impressed me most is he actually looked at some of the stuff we did and said " I like that ". Highlands has unbelievable support, tradition AND talent. But I still say kids come there just to play football and that gives them an advantage. All school have talent, but not as much as FTH.

I agree completely but I also believe kids go to Highlands to play football which enables them to platoon and have unbelievable competition in practice eveyday. If you think Highlands does not have student/athletes go there to play football you are living in a dream world. The fact that they have great academics and community adds to the ability to draw players.

$$$$$$ and travel are the 2 things that hinder county schools from succeeding. I honestly believe 80% of the coaches in the state could go to FTH and continue their tradition. However about 20% or less of the coaches could go to Bell or Boyle and continue. County schools deal with trying to transport players to and from school for practice by using activity buses which will limit the amout of practice time. These county school have over 95% free and reduced lunch. When kids become 16 in order to get a car they must work. In these situations most will quit playing ball and work if possible to have car and insurance instead of riding a bus 10-15-20 even 25 miles to and from school and practice. Private schools and city/independant schools can in most cases keep the players at practice until 6-7-8 oclock or when weather is to hot bring them in at night. County schools would run activity buses at usually 6:00 and have very difficult time sending players home after school and then expecting them to be able to get back for a late practice if weather was too hot. I could ramble on but will wait for some response to this.

Have to go with Whitley but you never know. Be surprised if more than 10 passes thrown in the game, combined.
