  1. Wide Open!!!! McCreary, Wayne, Lincoln, Garrard, Mercer, East & West Jess could win it. Should be interesting come District and Regional Tourney time...
  2. He had the Warriors down by 12 or 14 and called off the press. I would rather have seen stretch that lead on out before he dropped back into the zone.. Dixon could be such a weapon. I would like to see him have a big game to give him a boost of confidence. With his height and outside shot he could really help the Raiders.
  3. Yeah you are right.. I was talking more about it being a confidence booster, with the 2 losses to Wayne.
  4. Final.. The Warriors jumped out to 9- 3 lead but Raiders went on a run to take the lead by the end of the 1st quarter. The Raiders kept the lead the rest of the night. It was really balanced on the offensive end for the Raiders. Watts and Shcrock had 13 pts each and Roark had 11 pts. Southwestern did a nice job defensively on Watts. Watts really did a nice job not forcing shots and find his open teammates. A much needed district win for the Raiders and it looks like these two will meet in the 1st round of the District Tourney once again this year.
  5. Tyson Williams has started 1 game so far this season for McCreary Central and logged some minutes in the last 3 or 4 games. He is an 8th grader. Aaron is closing in on the 2,000 pt mark.
  6. I agree the Raiders must play with composure. I would hope that everytime this bunch of kids sees SW would want to seek revenge for the 1st round knockout they received last year. I'll take the Raiders by 8.
  7. I'll start off by saying congrats to Wayne on a big road win. They really shot the ball well from outside. The Raiders will bounce back and make a run in the postseason.
  8. That statement is ridiculous!! I guess the Raiders have enjoyed all but 2 of their games being called by "BAD" officials. The Raiders are a quality team and should be respected. The Dyer Co. team was actually the ones that were acting "obseen". From tip of the game they were in Watts face talking trash and jawing. I don't care what sport or game in school sports it is uncalled for and shouldn't be tolerated. I am very proud of Watts for being as cool as he remained, because he took a lot more than most kids would have. I am also glad he stood his ground against those guys. Going into the game I thought we had a shot if we could have contained Pierce #24 and keep him under 20 pts. Obviously we didn't get it done. I would have liked to see them go to a box and chaser and make the rest of the DC team beat us. This is a good learning experience and the Raiders will be better because of it. Hopefully the Raiders will bounce back and have a good showing in the Lexington Catholic Tourney this weekend. Go Raiders!!!!!!
  9. This was a great game to watch. It was nip and tuck all game. Great win for the Raiders against a very well coached and disciplined team. Good luck to Dixie Heights the rest of the season.
  10. McCreary Central Tim Stephens (member 78 UK National Title team) Aaron Watts Donnie Frazier
  11. In the 4th quarter McCreary ran a diamond press and caused some turnovers that got them back in the game. I think if they had went to it sooner they would have pulled it out.
  12. I agree the game was well officiated. I never said that there were any home cooking going on. The Wayne player was clearly still moving toward the baseline and never got set. I never said that was the main factor of McCreary losing. Unforced turnovers and Bell (WC) having a scoring spree in the 2nd half is what beat McCreary. It was a great game and big win for Wayne! Congrats..
  13. Kudos Bronco!!! I thought the unforced turnovers was what beat the Raiders. The charge call under the basket with around 1 min to go should have been a "And 1" or no call. I'll trade a regular season loss for a post season win!
  14. Great Rivalry matchup! Should be a great game. I'll take McCreary by 7.
  15. This game reminded me of the SW district game of last season, but obviously with a different outcome. This time the ball was in Watts hands and TO got called and the correct play set up. I thought Rob Jones done a good job in the final minute getting the correct play set up. I thought foul trouble to Dixon and Schrock really hendered the offensive sets to let West slow it down. Watts hit Roark for the GW lay in. 1 point or 20, MC still gets the W!! :ylsuper:
  16. I can't say I agree with this statement. With the youth of the Raiders they will continue to get better as the season wears on. Friday night they only started 1 player (Watts) that started last year. I'll take the Raiders 78-62.
  17. The Raiders started out very sluggish against a well prepared Mercer team last night. Both teams played a hard fought game and it wasn't until midway through the 4th quarter that McCreary was able to get the stops they needed on defense to make the comeback. With a three point lead with under 1 min to go in the first OT, Mercer was able to get the ball into #23(name?) for a and 1 to tie it up. That sent it into 2 OT. I thought Mercer did a good job on Watts for the first 4 quarters (couldn't stop him but definitely contained him). Mercer is a very solid and well coached team. Good luck to them the rest of the season. Good win for the Raiders! :thumb:
