If you were watching on IHigh then you also heard the announcers saying that it sure looked like a three. No doubt a tough call for an official coming up from behind, but I don't know how you can watch that replay and not say it was a three. And I sure don't have young eyes, I think the officials kind of got the lines mixed up like some others suggested. I have watched it several times and while the left foot is closer than I thought the first time I watched it, I still see seperation. Good game though, I am not a Rowan Co. fan but they represented the 16th very well.

Fleming had defeated Bath Co. fairly easily twice this season...third time was a battle. Fleming Co. had to battle back and hang on. Bath was fired up and ready to play, have to give them credit.

Yes...the Ledger Independent. I noticed it a few times in the Fleming game as well. I guess if it's not getting called, keep doing it.

The Panthers although playing well are still very young and do not have a lot of depth. When they are clicking and play with energy they can play with many of the teams that most consider better than them. At the same time they don't always match up physically and foul trouble can lead to problems. They have 4 freshman playing major minutes mixed in with a few upperclassmen. The freshman have played a lot of ball, know what it is like to win, have good basketball smarts and are competitors. Elliott Co's coach in a postgame interview was quoted as saying Burns is one of the best young guards he has seen (and I don't think he meant just this year). With all that, they are still young and not as physically developed and strong as they will be down the road. Should have shown some Burns highlights, going around through and over the much taller Elliott team all night long. He got to the rim at will.

Big game from the freshman Burns. Another freshman, Troy Stewart came off the bench in the 1st half and knocked down 4 three's. FC got good production from another freshman in Saunders...the future is looking up for Fleming.

Congrats to Corey...I coached him for 3 years in youth football and he is a fine young man.

Fleming is improving as the year goes on. They have a tough one coming up with Rowan on monday night. Rowan drilled them early in the year, but Fleming played them to within 9 back on the 15th. I think Rowan is the better team but maybe Fleming can cut the margin again or pull the upset (Yes, this will be the third meeting of the season with another possible come tourny time). I hate to keep singling out the freshman, because they have others contributing as well but it is worth noting that Fleming Co. got 51 points from four freshman tonight, led by Darion Burn's with 23.

Fleming got 31 pts from a trio of freshman tonight led by Darion Burns with 16. Bath was led in scoring by Carpenter with 22. Dye records a double double tonight for Bath with 19 and 13. Should also note Fleming County senior Ian Kinder with the double double...14 and 12

Yes Burns had 28 or 30. That is becoming quite common lately. Fleming got a ton of minutes and some big points from their underclassmen. Overall they are very young but are showing improvement with each game. Fleming starts two freshman with two more getting quite a few minutes.

Fleming was undefeated in region play until Monday night when Ashland got them by 9. The win by East Carter avenges an earlier season loss in the EKC tourny that Fleming won by 5.

Good tournament for the Panthers and especially freshman Darion Burns. If my calculations are right that's 91 points in 3 games while in Florida.

The ball was never touched by the receiving team. Most, including the coaching staff did not think the ball traveled 10 yards. The officials explanation was that the ball went 10 yards and then went backwards. Although I wasn't buying it at the time, game film shows that he probably got it right. The ball had a crazy amount of spin on it. I'm not convinced that it was a called onside kick, but possibly a "miss" by the kicker. If it was called I wouldn't want to play pool with the kicker because he could put some crazy english on the cue ball.

I agree with you...However that's not the way it works. One of these teams will get the chance of a lifetime.

That's the competitive attitude I like to see:thumb: In all honesty you are correct. We have lost some good athletes both girls and boys to Clark recently, that would have made us better in several sports. At the same time if everything is legal they have the right to go where they want. The Fleming Co. 8th grade team has never lost to a Mason Co. team and that includes Mason's current freshman class. I realize that this does not always translate to high school success, but it has felt good. I don't have anything against the Mason Co. players and coaches who put in a lot of hard work to be as successful has they have been, it's mostly some of the fans and posters I run across that rub me the wrong way, (and the fact that almost none of them will admit that playing on your home court in a regional is not an advantage). They have dominated Fleming in sports for quite some time now, I can't deny that.

Might as well give it up All In, they can't even see how they look to others. That 8th grade Fleming Co. team is holed up in my basement most every weekend. They will have to go through me to end up at either Mason or Clark. I would say a couple of them are already on their minds though:lol:

Every once and awhile I say to myself, maybe I will breakdown and root for my neighbor Mason Co. I mean come on, I graduated in the 80's, no use to continue disliking them just because of feelings/rivilaries from the past. They have a strong tradition in basketball and more recently in football (we usually beat them like a drum when I played). This was one of the years I was maybe gonna bite the bullet, particulary because of players like J. Lang. Then I realize I just can't do it. Not because of their winning basketball program, or the hallowed fieldhouse (and the homecourt advantage), not because of the over salty crappy popcorn...No, it's because of the fans and supporters, particularly some of the ones I see posting on here over and over :puke: I'm sure you will all miss my support, but rooting for Mason Co. will have to wait at least another year for me. I hope you get sent packing in a hurry. I'll have to look N. Hardin's school colors up, have to be dressed for the part.

I really miss Fleming Co. being a part of the 10th region. Being of a somewhat older generation the 16th still does not do it for me. With that being said I really enjoyed traveling to the Ellis T. Johnson Arena on the campus of MSU and watching our regional basketball game (other than the $5 parking). Although I have witnessed some great games at the hallowed Fieldhouse, it did not take away from the experience in the least, and in fact I did not miss the Fieldhouse one bit. Just would have rather been watching 10th regions teams.
