After watching Shelby Valley today I think that Mason Co has a great chance.

It'll be a close game but I like Shelby Valley to win by 3.

I believe Mason County had a 5 or 6 point lead at halftime last year against Valley. I think it was tied at 39 late in the 4th, Shelby Valley went on a run to put it away.

 

I would love to see the Royals continue this dream season, but at the same time, I would love to see the mountain school face Goliath in the championship game.

I'd lean Shelby Valley, but really, it's anyone's game. I will however take whoever comes out of the top to win the championship game. But Mason County especially has gotten used to being doubted, and proving them wrong, so we'll see.

This should be a very evenly matched game. Whoever wins will definitely go into the championship in the underdog role...

Shelby Valley is going to be a VERY tough out for the Royals. It will be interesting to see who gets the assignment on #3; from what I've seen he's all that and then some.

I'm not sure about this game... neither impressed me much tonight. I think Mason can make it interesting but I see Valley pulling it out at the end. Justice is just a special player.

Typical Clark County statement. But go ahead, continue to doubt Mason or even Shelby Valley for that matter. GRC beat Ballard and Mason beat GRC, so Ballard or Scott County winning this tourney is in no way a foregone conclusion. Are they the favorites? Yes, without a doubt. But I guarantee you one thing. The runner-up, regardless of whom it may be, will not be leaving this trophy in the locker room. The real championship will still be played on saturday night, as usual.

I think everyone may be vastly under-rating the "A" State Champs.

 

Shelby Valley is playing great team ball, taking high percentage shots, playing solid defense, etc.. Mason County is very streaky. No knocks, they are playing on Saturday morning, which in itself an accomplishment.

 

I don't get the impression that the Royals are playing to their maximum ability right now. My gut feel is that Mason County will have to put it all together and play their best basketball of the tournament to beat Shelby Valley.

 

We were all treated to an exhibition of great basketball by #3 Elisha Justice (Shelby Valley), and #5 Jarod Polson of West Jessamine in the early game on Friday night.

 

Looking forward to seeing Gilbert and Justice do battle on Saturday moring.

I really think Mason will win by 8-10 points. I see them playing more players and tiring Shelby Valley. Really, that bracket wasn't that strong.:ylsuper:

I am expecting a close game. I think Mason will control the tempo and continue to play solid defense. These two things will give them a chance to win down stretch. It seems someone new steps up for them in every big game and they will need it again this morning.
