I'm not overly excited about the hire either. I hope it works out well. One question though - Is it possible Perry pulled his name out of consideration? I have heard that may be the case but don't know firsthand.

Heard this one was 2-1 Greenup Co. going into the last inning. I think the Panthers will surprise a few people this year. Not saying they are ready to challange the top few teams in the 16th but they should be a good game for anyone.

Yes, thats the name I heard today. I misspelled the last name. Nothing concrete just heard him mentioned for the first time from someone who is in on the rumor/source mill. I don't have any idea if he was contacted, initiated the contact, or even has any interest. I remembered his name from his days at Mason and with Pitino as a videographer or assistant of some kind.

I don't believe there have been any interviews as of yet. I'm not hearing much lately. The most recent names I have heard are Troy Lee Thomas, Lake's son (currently coaching in Tn.), and the newest name I have heard mentioned is Mark Stearns (sp???).

I don't think Fleming should have let Messer get away. I wonder if he would have any interest whatsoever in coming back? Would admin even consider him if he did? I have heard Hicks name mentioned as well by the way.

Don't know all the details but I believe Fleming was up most of the game and by around 6 at the start of the 4th qtr - Then got dusted.

That one left me scratching my head. Maybe it was set up for a clean catch and kick it back out to someone streaking for a 3? I would have thought they could have come up with something better than that!

What is the status of Rogers? Is he expected back soon?

Fleming was up 1 after 3. Morgan went on a 18-0 run. Fleming continues to play well in spurts but cannot seem to finish games like they need to. Congrats to Morgan.

Yes. I believe she finished with around 7 points but not 100%. I know the last time these two teams played she had a really big game.

No doubt, he is very athletic. The Panthers play hard they just don't always make the best decisions at various times. They did well to climb back in the game against East then IMO took a quick three with the score tied at around 40 seconds and then had a couple of other miscues. I still believe they are capable of beating some quality teams they just need to show better composure and on court IQ in close games.

You all just don't get it do you? When individuals make a choice to go somewhere in extremely cold weather it is one thing. It is not the same thing has a school district being held liable for a group of kids. In today's society one little thing goes wrong and your district is front page news and being sued. If your district is called off that day (right or wrong) and they felt the weather was to severe to attend school why in the world would you send a group off in the same weather for a ballgame? It's just a ballgame for goodness sakes. Would everyone be upset if it was an academic match that was cancelled? It is becoming like Lord of the Flies up in Elliott Co. Civilization is breaking down. I guess fans could not handle one night without the ceremonial bloodletting and have freaked out. Like others I am done arguing about this. You cannot argue with young I.Q.'s

Believe me, Fleming County is not scared of Elliott Co. For gosh sakes people it is just Elliott Co. Yes, at this point and time they have probably the best team in the area and possibly one of the better teams in the state. But it is still just Elliott Co. Not a name associated with basketball that strikes fear in your heart. Go play your best, take your whipping and know that down the road it will still just be Elliott Co., beat them in the year you match up (which shouldn't be long for Fleming). Now granted there are teams around the state that you know simply reload every year and are going to bring it each and every year. While I'm glad to see a smaller county school do well you guys do not fall into that category and Fleming probably never will either. I will admit that winning and success in the present can go a long way towards winning in the future however, you all (at least some fans) are giving yourselves way too much credit if you think other schools or a school are so awed of your team that they are scared to play. Most players and coaches consider it a challange to compete against one of the better teams even if a loss is almost certain. Enjoy your success (as you should) but it won't be that long before you are returning to Earth.

Not really. Russell should'nt have even had a shot at the end. Fleming should have closed out by 10 or 12. Typical Fleming, get a good lead then some lapses and bonehead plays occur. Russell would not have had a shot to win at the end if not for technical with a few seconds left. I agree it was a good effort by Russell with some big baskets by the eight grader, but I don't think I would say they should have won. They did well to get back in it.

100 % agree as well! :thumb: I'm sure there is not alot to do in Elliott Co. on a Friday night and I guess the legions of fans were having withdrawl. Some of the reasoning and opinions are bordering on pathetic. Especially the ones degrading players who decided to take in a high school ballgame instead of ripping and running. Like coach Frasure said tonight on the radio, who wouldn't want a chance to play one of the top ranked teams in the state. Win or lose (99.9 % lose) It's not everyday you get a chance to do that and see how you stack up. The game will be made up and the decision was made by the super and the director of transportation not the players or coaches. School was called off in Fleming Friday and evidently they thought it was not appropriate to send a bus to Sandy Hook in 0 degree weather, no big deal. PATHETIC.
