FCsnapper85 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 ....Final from Flemingsburg. Panthers fought back from 12 down but couldn't pull this one out.
Wireman Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Tough season for Fleming County so far. Good win for East Carter.
16thBBall Fan Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 East still must not have played real well, I would have thought they would have won this one by double digits.

ringer Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 East played really well in the first half. They were up 34-22 at the half. Came out not as aggressive on the offensive end in the second half but still managed to pull this one out. They really showed a lot of fight at the end of the game and that was nice to see.

With Fleming's record and scores from games I would have expected East to be up enough that not very good officials would have had much of an impact on the game.
ringer Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) I didn't say that the refs had any impact on one team or another. I said that they were terrible BOTH ways. They left everyone scratching their heads at the end of this one. East Carter's not looking to shoot the ball in the third quarter is what made this one close. LRCW Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 You can criticize the officiating all you want, but we will not allow you to bad mouth the officials by name. These guys have a tough job, and do the job for very little pay. I don't agree with all of the calls I see made during games I watch, but I respect every official and the job they do.
ringer Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 East Carter Barnhill -16 Bair -15 Jackson- 8 Pemberton-5 Kawada -4 Fleming Gray- 17 Dugan -10 Not sure about the rest
ec22fan Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Good win for the Raiders! Agree with an early statement that it was nice to see them fight hard to win a close one. A few key things at the end of the game where they showed a lot of heart. They got a bucket /and1 from Pemberton, a rebound and charge taken by Adams, and sent 3 different players to the free throw line (Barnhill, Jackson, and Bair), where I think they went 5-6. This and good defense made the difference down the stretch. Good Job Raiders!
Butterfly Baby Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Josh Gray sure is athletic. The Panthers need to find a vocal leader. Maybe they could win some of these close games if someone would step up and be a leader.
FCsnapper85 Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 No doubt, he is very athletic. The Panthers play hard they just don't always make the best decisions at various times. They did well to climb back in the game against East then IMO took a quick three with the score tied at around 40 seconds and then had a couple of other miscues. I still believe they are capable of beating some quality teams they just need to show better composure and on court IQ in close games.
