Has anyone beat Corbin in the 13th other than South Laurel?

True, I think they match up pretty good against Knox other than Miller. I think Knox beat them by 8 or 10 in the regular season, but Polson did not play.

I think it will be Corbin and South in the finals of the 13th region.

Bears did not play well in the second half when Simmons got into foul trouble. Most of the points in the post came from the guards driving to the basket. I think the big kid from HC got all of his points but 2 or 3 on out of bounds plays.

Harlan Co. played the best they have played all year, Brown just had one of those games. Harlan Co. held Green and Smith in check, but could not stop Brown. Harlan also missed several key free throws and made several turnovers after Simmons fouled out for HC early in the 4th. Brown had one of the best games I have ever seen by a PG in the 13th region. Congrats to both teams.

Both coaches play 7 kids max, unless they are big time foul trouble.

Good quote, I would take those 4 kids first also in a pick up game. M'boro is loaded with talent and should win this game, but Coach Jones will have a good game plan.

I thought Harlan Co. would win this game. They have good talent and size on the inside. Maybe the best talent in the 13th other than Clay Co. Congrats to M'boro.

M'boro has beat Harlan Co. twice this season. M'boro has good size, talent, and speed. Look for the Bears too have a huge crowd after that great win against Bell Co.

I would say Coach Jones told those kids who they needed to foul and who they did not. I would say Coach Jones has watched Bell Co. play several times this season. Good win for that young program.

B-ville has improved a lot this season. They have a very good Coach who has been around. I also think Strange is one of the best PG the 13th has seen in recent years. Maybe since Cash from the Rock and Vance from B-ville.

I agree, Jones has been in that situation a few times. I thought Bell Co. would win this one because they could match the Harlan Co. size and they have better outside shooting. The Harlan Co. kids play so hard on "D". HDE check I think they held Bell Co. to 0 points in he last 2:30 of the game. Big win for that young program.:thumb:

They only cancelled one game that I know of and that was Whitley Co. Talking to one of the players he told me that they only had 4 kids that could go to Whitley because of the flu. Maybe they should have been like Hickory on Hoosiers and played with 4 players.::lol::thumb: I went to the Bell game @ Bell and waited in the parking lot for 2 hours because the electric was off. I guess you can not blame that one on the bears. Lets try and just focus on the district game. Regular season games get cancelled every year. I do not think Bell Co. Coach Morris or Harlan Co. coach Mike Jones would cancel a game if they did not have too.

No electric in the gym @ Bell is a good reason to cancel in Feb. This could be a good game. I think Bell Co. has better talent in the starting five, but Harlan Co. does play very hard.

Whitley Co. over South L. (maybe/maybe not)? I think it will be a better game than most people think. Whitley Co. could win this one because that play so hard on "D".

13TH Region Player of the year goes to a Senior. The kid who wins the award gets a invitation to the Ky vs Indiana All Star tryout. The best Seniors in the Region are Crawford, Strange, and Zachary.

I think the 50th district games could be interesting. With W'burg playing better and a Whitley Co. team that plays very hard every play. Corbin vs W'burg South L. vs Whitley Co. 13th region If you went on talent I would go with Corbin, but you can not count out Knox, South L., Clay, and M'boro.

This use to be a great rival game in the early to late 90's. Jones was the coach @ Harlan and Corbin had two great coaches also Hicks and Deaton.

I can remember a few Ashland teams after 1977 that could play with Elliott. I remember the 95-96 Ashland team was very good also.
