I don't know where you got your information no one ever said I lived in Mason County. I don't. I will tell you this. I live in the 10th region and always have. I have attended 10th region games ever since I was young and I did not graduate from Mason County either in case you may be interested. It was like attending a little state tournament. It lacked the atmosphere of the 10th region. I felt like I had already been to the state tournament when it was over. We did not enjoy the $6.00 pop & popcorn either. should have kept my money and gone out to eat something better after the game. I guess the best team won in the end. It sure had nothing to do with the home court advantage up there.

I forgot this. The atmosphere and excitement of the 10th region was missing. A lot of the fans missed the first of the championship game sitting out backed up in rush hour traffic. When we finally got into the parking garage we had to walk by all the agravated fans missing the game trying to just buy tickets. A lot of 10th region fans missed the beginning of the championship game. To many people inside worrying about peoples feet touching the seats. They could have been used better directing traffic trying to get into the game. It lacked excitement due to the size of the building. It made it bad for the 10th region fans to be the first game. They should have had the 9th region game first. They did not have far to travel. It was a really nice place but that's about all that was good about it. Pop & Popcorn $6.00 to expensive. We did not like the 10:00 A.M. game Deming got stuck with on Saturday either. Something was missing. Not just our money after it was over.

My votes for Mason County, a lot of fans there and not far to travel. Everyone in the 10th region loves Rupp.

Cons - 10:00 AM games? Candy patrol at the doors. Concession prices and rude ushers. No directing of traffic. I also didn't like the 6:00 start time for the finals. Pro - beautiful facility, winning on someone else's floor Give a discount ticket price to students or just kids in general.

Fleming and Mason are about the same size in the terms of numbers. Fleming County should have NEVER been moved out of the 10th. Lewis Co. is also close, is there any chance they might move into the 10th as well?

Couldn't agree with you more!!! :thumb: I really wouldn't mind seeing the 10th and 11th region finals paired together at Memorial. We didn't stay to see the 9th region finals so that we could come home and watch the end of the 11th.

I didn't hear any Mason fans complaining about the drive but I did hear them complain about the traffic. Many sat outside for 30+ minutes trying to get into the parking lot because there was no syncronization to the traffic lights. A policeman directing traffic could have easily solved this problem. Several missed most if not all of the 1st quarter of the game. If you noticed the band came in really late and barely made tip off. This problem could be eliminated by releasing school a little early. Of course I responded to anyone that I heard complain about getting to the game late by saying don't worry about it. You saw the best half of the game anyway! I must say that I'm suprised that there were Mason County fans out in the concession area after the game. Most I saw were still in the gym watching the team cut down the nets. I have no doubts that Robert Hatton is a good kid but there are several teams who also have "good" kids. I have it on good authority that Middleton, Downing and Hamm all spend part of their day at MCTC taking college classes. This should say something about their academic achievements as well. It is great to see so many good kids taking advantage of athletics and academics. So many times people get caught up in sports and forget the reason why these kids have the opportunity to compete in tournaments such as this to begin with. I still feel that a 2 hour drive to a ballgame on a SCHOOL night should not happen no matter who the school is. Especially when all the 11th grade students had to take the state mandated ACT the next day. So much for the test scores.:ohbrother:

Game was close the entire first half. Deming led it alot of the way. A six point game at half time. :idunno: Game was closer than the final score indicates.

Better ask the 38th how they feel before you ask Mason or Montgomery? From what I hear out of Deming (a school in the 38th) that has already been decided. Plus I heard a lot of their fans complaining today as well.

The BOK is a top rate facility and hope the 10th will return there in the future. :thumb: I noticed that you left right after the GRC game and came in right before. What's wrong, not in the mood to pay $3.00 for a box of popcorn? Daddy's Thoughts: 1. Beautiful venue. But not for a high school basketball game. 2. Don't ever take a little bag of gummy bears from a child as they enter a high school basketball game and NO it wasn't my child. 3. Ushers were rude!!!! 4. Make decisions prior to the beginning of the tournament. We were told at the beginning of game 1 that we could move into Deming's section only to be told by a rude usher with only 4:00 minutes left in the game that we had to move so that the seats could sit empty. The "management" changed their mind. :irked: Oh and guess what, some of the Scott fans had moved into our seats. HAVE OPEN SEATING!!!!!!!! 5. Food was WAY too expensive. I only paid $1.50 for a pop last year and this year they were $4.00. Talk about inflation. 6. The 10th region has lost the atmosphere that has always made it a special tournament. 7. I'm one of the few that stayed for all 4 games. Sugar Momma and the little one left to go to the mall, so I guess we paid $12.00 for 2 games for those tickets. In the past 2 years it would have only been $10.00 for the 2 games. Thought? Is Mason County or Montgomery Co. going to check purses for illegal contraband (food) next year?:laugh: I've taken McDonalds food in there before.

Deming's Principal was telling their fans that their section was 103 and that is what Kroger in Maysville was telling people. So I have a feeling that sections 102 and 103 will be somewhat mixed. Another mess up!!!!:ohbrother: There's is also a lot of Mason Co. people sitting in section 102.

Good grief I'll have to leave here at 8:00 to get there anyway I didn't want to risk having to stand in line. I can tell you that Deming is sitting in section 103 and Mason Co in section 102.

Sorry dude. I don't live in Mason Co. I just like to follow both teams! I find it interesting to watch the defending state champs when they are in your back door.

Not unless you can sneak in a kiddie and hold her on your lap through 4 ball games! It's going to be fun enough to leave my little town to drive up to the big city by 10:00. Didn't want the added pressure of having to stand in line. Hope there is no police on the AA that early on Saturday!

. I would guarentee that the 10th region boys tourny will bring in more money than the 9th region girls will. By the way I paid $63.00 today for 4 tickets on Saturday! Ridiculous! The schools should have tickets just like they do at Rupp!

So are you saying that they should get a hotel room and stay the night before? That is what the teams playing in the Sweet 16 do. Maybe the BOK can pay for the rooms. :irked:

This is a big deal for those kids and they are going to have to leave Mt.Olivet around 8:00 am.:eek: I would rather play late on a Saturday than that early in the morning. Why couldn't the 9th region girls play their game first and then turn the gym over to the 10th? I think the whole thing is going to be one big mess.

I for one would like to know if schools are going to be assigned sections? No offense but I would rather sit in a schools's cheering section that I like . If the sections are assigned, how can I get that information?

Deming had the biggest crowd. Several Robertson County people set on Harrison County's side and it still was not full over there. Were we at the same game. Robertson County had the biggest fan base and they had to travel. All we actually saw over there were a lot of kids.

All I can say is Bracken County will not have to worry about who gets the passes next week.
