  1. I'm sorry, I don't know who Chad Henning is. What school? I think the only locks for round 1 are Matt Ryan (BC) and Brian Brohm (UofL). Woodson, Colt Brennan (Hawaii) and Joe Flacco (Delaware) are the names thrown around by Mel Kiper as the top 5 QBs. Dennis Dixon (Oregon) ran the spread and had Oregon looking like a Nat'l title contender until he tore his acl against Arizona and he was getting some hype during the season. Another possibility are some underclassmen, like Chase Daniels (Missou).
  2. Michigan kept pressure on Tebow, great game plan on defense. Louisville, that was your new d-coordinator that put that together! Something to look forward to. I'm happy to see coach Carr go out on a win! I thought UM would get killed! Michigan more than held thier own against Florida's spread!
  3. I'll try to answer them in order. 1. The draft will dictate Woodson as a number 1 pick. At least five teams will be looking QB (Chicago, Atlanta, Minnesota, Baltimore, Tampa Bay) and this draft has some depth at that position. 2. The biggest weakness, and it showed itself yesterday, is Woodson's release. He takes a long time to release the ball, which is a scary weakness to have against NFL speed on defense. 3. I think he is projected as a one before the combines. 4. This is where it can get interesting. If Andre has a great combine, his stock could soar. He needs to go there and run well and show his big time arm. He needs to make GM's forget his first two years at UK and his lack of mobility and long release.' This could also solidify Woodson as a second round pick if he falters at Indy, or if Brennan and Flaco light it up or if Dennis Dixon is healthy and lights it up. Right now, I think most scouts have Woodson third behind Brohm and Matt Ryan. Woodson could slip to fifth or sixth if the combine does not go well. 5. I don't know that Woodson's skill set fit any one style more than another on the next level. I think Minnesota is the best situation for any young QB because they have a running game and defense in place. I will say that Tampa would be interesting because if there is a system that is tough for young QBs, it is the West Coast offense and Tampa runs that. At the same time, Woodson would get the chance to sit and learn in Tampa, which could be to his advantage.
  4. I think the two swing games are Tennessee-Wisconsin and Arkansas-Missouri. Both of those will be tough games. The SEC has been darn impressive!
  5. I wish Trey all the luck in the world! Enjoy California and hanging out with new friends from around the country! Listen to those coaches as well...sometimes they know what they are talking about. Happy New Year to you and yours as well!
  6. Woodson breaks Couch's single season reord for passing TD's!
  7. :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb: :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
  8. A few names as a possible replacement...Bill Cowher will of course come up and I think he will consider it because this team's philosophy matches his when he was with Pittsburgh. Two other guys that should be interviewed and should get consideration are Rex Ryan (former d-coordinator there currently with the Raiders) and Mike Singletary (former great Bear linebacker and current d-coordinator at San Francisco who almost took the Baylor head coaching position this year when it came open, also a former linebacker coach for Baltimore).
  9. Brian Billick will NEVER be hired as a defensive coach. He has had very little to do with the teams success on that side of the ball for the last 10 or so years. The credit goes to coordinators like Marvin Lewis, Rex Ryan and others from a coaching standpoint. Lets be honest, though, most of the credit should go to Ray Lewis and Ed Reed for the defensive success of the franchise. Billick was a decent OC who happened to ride the Moss-Carter-Cunningham-Smith train to a head coaching position, but he has had no success offensively for 10 years in the league as a head coach. I'm not sure he would be a good pick up for an NFL team, but his charisma and experience may be good for a college team. He may want to take a year off and see what opens up collegiately next year. Just my opinion
  10. I don't know if there is a thread on this already, but this is a good hire for the Tigers. Franklyn is the master of the spread and with so many high schools in the south going to it, he will get great recruits to run his system. This spells trouble for everyone in the SEC, in my opinion.
  11. I voted "yes" but like many folks reserve the right to change my answer based on him being at UK. I would want my kid at UK regardless of the coach. I'm not sold on Billy Clyde, but I never was, even when he was at A&M.
  12. Those receiver number for the kids from Lone Oak and Lewis County are darn impressive...both those kids should be playing at the next level, I assume.
  13. Woodson has a chance to give UK back to back bowl wins tomorrow. I think he has had a better career at UK than Couch. Other opinions?
  14. Iron Man is what I am looking forward to most...but I like this list. I will definitely go see Incredible Hulk, Dark Knight and Get Smart. Don't know if anyone mentioned Cloverfield yet, but I'll start the year out with a bang by going to see that one!
  15. How does St. Pierre manage to dominate a guy likeHughes and lose to a guy like Serra...I hope GSP reign lasts longer than 1 fight this time around, he is a treat! I would love to see him and Ace Franklyn work out the weights and go at it for five rounds.
  16. Congrats on history, Patriots! I am conflicted because I hate the Pats, but I love football and would love to see 19-0. Plus, I don't think anyone can beat them anyway.
  17. The Giants got away from what was working for them in the first half, mixing the short passes with the run. That play by Plax had the Pats on the ropes early and they gave the Giants short passes all night. When the Pats started pressuring Eli in the second half, the Giants didn't get the run game involved enough to keep them honest. I hope Bradshaw, O'Hara and Madison are healthy for next week against the Bucs. I also hope the Giants find ways to involve both Kevin Boss and Steve Smith next week.
  18. Chuck Norris won a game of Connect 4 in 3 moves. If you look in a mirror and say "Chuck Norris" three times, he will appear and kill your entire family... but at least you get to see Chuck Norris. To pull America out of the Great Depression, Chuck Norris listed his beard on the stock exchange. While these shares have become increasingly valuable, no one has ever been game enough to collect. Chuck Norris doesn't enter the Olympics because it would not be fair. So every four years, he is mailed 237 gold medals. Contrary to popular belief, a meteor did not end the dinosaurs' existance. It was Chuck Norris' roundhouse kick; it was so powerful it left a massive crater in the earth. Chuck Norris pay's his bar tabs by letting the barkeep live. To show its patriotism, the American flag recently got a tattoo of Chuck Norris. Michael Jackson wrote the song "Bad" while pretending he was Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris coined the term "pwned" and is the only one who can correctly pronounce it. Archaeologists have recently found a saddle with the with the inscription, "property of Chuck Norris" etched into the hardened leather right on top of the fossilized skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Chuck Norris only goes to the mall to tell little children there is no such person as Santa Claus....then he goes to Cinnabon. Chuck Norris actually auditioned for the part of Jerry Seinfeld's neighbor in the hit TV show. But the improvised scene where Chuck put a bag full of live rats over Jerry's head as a gag didn't test very well with the audience. Chuck Norris can win a soccer game with only using his hands. Chuck Norris knows that there can never be true equality. This is not because people are flawed, though, but because Chuck Norris does not accept anyone as his equal. Chuck Norris is the only human in recorded history to ever actually walk on the ocean floor. Chuck Norris once killed a man by simply showing him how to love. And my personal fav... Someone once asked Chuck Norris "Who let the dogs out?" Chuck Norris thought for a second, then replied "Go EDIT yourself!"
  19. Duncanville is an impressive team...lots of athleticism. This is a good showing by the Cards.
  20. I know who WILL pick them as soon as they see the thread (John Anthony, Buzz...where you at guys?).
  21. Fines Coming? The Beacon Journal reported Thursday that Damon Jones declined Cavs coach Mike Brown's request to enter the victory Tuesday over the Miami Heat with 57 seconds to play. He was not alone. Ira Newble also declined to go into the game at that time. Both players didn't want to play just a minute of garbage time. Brown said Thursday that any consequences will "be handled internally." -- The Akron Beacon Journal So, yeah, you have to cut these guys, right?
  22. I like LSU. They have are physical enough on offense to match the Buckeye D and have enough team speed on defense to limit the bigplays from the OSU passing game. The key will be can LSU stop Beenie Wells. I think LSU has what it takes to limit the running game, make some big plays on offense and put the game away late in the third quarter. LSU-28 OSU-10
  23. What's the story with Fairview? The job was posted on KHSAA. Was the coach fired? I know Tackett left, but the program was soild when he left, wasn't it? Any background from my northeastern KY buddies?
