  1. This is great to hear. He was a good coach at Lex Cath and it is nice to see him have success in Georgia.
  2. Good move for the Reds...first Dusty, now Jockety, finally this organization is moving in the right direction!
  3. Jets- Defensive linemen that can fit the 3-4, outside LBs that fit the 3-4, Speed at the WR position, play-making safety with coverage ability Giants- Corners, both kickers, offensive line, outside LBs, if available a sleeper MLB to groom to replace Pierce
  4. Pack 20 Seahawks 14 All about the home field advantage. The Pats rarely lose at home in the playoffs
  5. Pats will take away the run and force Jags to score with them through the air. That won't happen becuase of the pressure the Pats get out of the 3-4. Pats 35 Jags 10
  6. Trinity is from Texas, however there is a large population of Samoan immigrants in the Euless area. The Haka they do after every game is awesome, very similar to what Hawaii does.
  7. I always thought John L. was a good coach in a bad situation at Michigan State. I don't know if Hawaii can do better.
  8. Having coached in Kentucky and now coaching in Texas, I would say these three are the reasons for a lack of victories by Kentucky schools over some teams from other states. Texas high school football coaching is on another level. A lot of guys have college experience both as a player and coach and that makes a difference. Any school that uses two way players will struggle against a team in the GCL that two platoons all of their guys. Fatigue makes cowards of us all and combined with the talent at these schools, the combination can make great teams look bad on a given night. When Kentucky schools start having more success, then their will be that expectation of winning, which will lead to a different mindset during preparation and a better attitude going into a game. This can make the difference between winning and losing. All of this said, I know I hopld Kentucky football in higher regard than a lot of posters on this site (based on comments in some other threads I have started). I believe Kentucky has some great programs that can compete nationally with other top programs. The question is depth. Highlands, X and Trinity can compete with almost anyone, and some of the smaller programs like Beechwood, NCC, Danville and Belfry can hang with any other small program in the country. The problem lies in that in Texas, there are 12 or so state champs in smaller classes that can compete with the smaller programs like Beechwood, NCC, Danville and Belfry and that doesn't include the top teams in those divisions, so there are probably like 40 or so teams in Texas at that level. You can say the same thing about the larger schools. I don't think the problem is at the top, it is in the lack of depth of great high school football teams in the state, overall.
  9. I don't know what's going on here, but it seems like if Clemens was using, he would not go through all of this, suing and 60 Minutes and press conferences and Congress. I honestly don't know whom to believe.
  10. No Gates, no chance for the Chargers! Colts 35 Chargers 17
  11. Happy for Goose! Jim Rice and Hawk Dawson should've gotten in too! (So should Mark McGwire, but that is for another thread!)
  12. I've been telling the Dallas folks here that the Giants have the Cowboys number for 18 weeks. I hope week 19 is the charm! Giants 38 Cowboys 31
  13. Aaron Baldwin is East's coach and he is 26. He graduated with my wife (go Raiders).
  14. I'll see your Craig Yeast and raise you Steve Johnson, Dickie Lyons, Jacob Tamme, Keenan Burton and Rafael Little out of the backfield. I still think Woodson is better, but he has a better skill position supporting cast than Couch had.
  15. You are missing some top talents, like Ryan Clady from Boise or Felix Jones from Arkansas. You have some guys way high too. Blakes stock has been WAY down! I hope Maualuga lasts for the Giants! He is a BEAST!
  16. Hey...I like the format we had going earlier! With the fifth pick in the 2008 NFL draft, Kansas City selects...Sedrick Ellis, defensive tackle from USC
  17. I live in Dallas. The fans like Julius fine, they just believe Barber is better, which he is. Dallas doesn't have what it takes to move up to get Run DMC, I believe. However, you may be on to something. Jones is a Free-Agent and they need a change of pace, so Dallas takes Felix Jones from Arkansas. This is more likely.
  18. People forget the talent at Florida State and the fact that most of the players on there roster were considered better than UK's players at one point. It was a good game and I love the fact that UK beat a team with the tradition of FSU.
  19. I hope the Warriors put on a show. I would love to see them win and go undefeated!
  20. He will be the hot QB name coming from the draft this year. I'm not as big on him as some other folks. He went to Pitt and could not beat out Tyler Palko, so he transferred to Delaware. He had a nice career there, winning a National Title. Good size, good arm, he will need to distinguish himself at the combine, much like Woodson.
  21. Charlie Ward asked the same question when he came out in the draft years ago. So did Danny Wuerfuel (sp). It happens. The NFL looks for a very specific type of QB and anyone outside of the mold gets left in the dust.
  22. No App State doesn't beat Fla. Let's be honest, App State plays Michigan 100 times, Michigan wins 99. The Mountaineers caught them once.
  23. You meant Chad Henne (Michigan), right...I got it...sorry. He will be drafted, but I don't know if he is a number 1 guy.
