Just got a little background info. Is the new guy, Purnell, a double wing coach? I heard from a reliable source that the Morgan county middle school had success with the double wing, and was looking for a double wing coach to continue it at the high school level. I heard they talked some with Estill county and seemed very interested in their style.

Hound, that may be too far...relax. Damage has been done, time to move on. I agree with Hard Charger. Poynter's name has been all over the place. Having ties to the county should help. Hopefully the Bourbon/Paris rivalry doesn't run so deep that he would not be accepted if he got the job. Does sound like he wants out of Trimble pretty bad. I really don't know much about him other than what's been posted here.

Clayton Brooks is the current middle school coach. Knew I had heard the name before, it was on their website listed under middle school.

Hasnt he been on staff for 4 or so years? I think he may have been at Holmes or some other school up north. He's a Boone county grad, that played with Shaun Alexander, if I'm not mistaken.

I've never torn anything in mine, but had 3 separations at the AC joint of the shoulder. Can't put a price on staying strict with ice and heat. It gets old, but it greatly reduces the inflammation and pain. Scar tissue is something that is a tolerance issue. Stay safe and work efficiently. Keep perfect and even modified form in the weight room as well.

Sounds exciting. I look forward to Berea joining this district. They seem to be building back up. This one will be fun to watch!!!

Glad to see Maxwell giving back. That's a good move on Brumley's behalf bringing back some of the special ones that was apart of the successful times at Southern.

I think this is one of the best 1A districts in the state. Toss up this season between Lynn Camp, Williamsburg, and Campbellsville.

Best Runnig Back has to be Derek Homer. Might be off topic, but he was a part of there last run at state.

So are they going with the same scheme as last year? Anybody heard? I know Brumley was part of O.C. last year, so I wouldn't expect much to change. Anybody close know?

I haven't heard. I guess the good thing about coming off of a 1 win season, is that you can only go up. If they are hitting the basics and preaching good blocking, they may get some more success this year. I thought that was the biggest weakness last year, blocking. If their back (usually only one) can't get a running lane and establish a solid running game, or give the QB a little time, they will continue to struggle. The weightroom should increase their success, how are they looking experience wise? How many starters will they return? Hope to see Southern get back in the district mix.

I haven't heard anything about the coaching, but one of our school's coach's (actually Basketball) was in Boone county visiting family recently. They took him by the new school and he said it was absolutely awesome. A beautiful facility, with waht looks like it will be a awesome sports complex. Way to go Boone County!

6A you'd have to say Jefferson County. I would say that in 1 to 2 A, I like the central Ky region. While they don't have the Beechwood, there are some great schools and traditions...Danville, Bardstown, Harrodsburg (well, used to be), Garrard, Campbellsville, etc.

Best of luck to Morgan County. Like to see them have GOOOOOOOOD year. (Couldn't resist) Glad to see this one finally get resolved. Hate to see a school wait too long before making a decision. I don't know what KY connection the new coach has, but it sounds like a case of a coach that has been in the assistant role finally getting a break into being a head. Congratulations Coach!!! Make the best of it and keep the rest of our dreams alive of one day wearing the big head set.

Couple of years ago, I watched a boy who was missing 3/4 of his arm wrestle his way to the Minnesota state championships. I think he was in Divison 2. Really amazing when you consider how intense of a sport wrestling is in that state.

I was going to say Haskins from Loan Oak, but then I saw them referring to this year. I'll second Haywodd...hahaha

I know of some coaches that have been disappointed by a basketball team going deep into the postseason. Can't blame them though, with everybody doing spring practice these days, you gotta stay on top of things.

Didn't Jenkins go 6-5 last year? With such small numbers, sounds like they are at least competitive. Good luck to them this year! I love true 1A football!!!!

Coach Thomas will bring the ROAR and PRIDE back to CU. Congratulatoins to these 2 young men from Henry County. Speaking from experience, these 2 will have a wonderful opportunity to really learn the game under a great teacher.
