That sounds quite similar to Bracken's Lady Bears who only have two seniors and one of them has not been playing due to injury.

I certainly hope Kelsey stays healthy and has a good season in her last year as a Deming Lady Devil. She's definitely had her share of obstacles to overcome with her injuries. She's a good kid, and I hope the best for her!

As for the comments he made, unless you were on the floor playing or referee-ing, how would you know, unless you are pk or one of his players and then I doubt you would admit it happened? Uh...hello...I guess I could ditto that comment back to you, right? So, you must have been on the floor or the bench too. Bottom line: there were many threads to follow that Class A game and nothing mentioned the "manhandling" of players, just blaming the time keeper, the refs, the water girl, and such for the loss. As far as celebrating the victory....I didn't post anything to this thread until somebody started bashing our coach with this crazy stuff. It was a darn good, close game between two fairly even matched teams. One team had to lose (that's usually how it works) and on last Thursday it was St. Pat. I am knowledgeable about the fact that it seems there's always someone else to blame or criticize when you lose, and I see that as being a sore loser. And I don't really care where St. Pat sits when they come to other people's games. At Mason County that night, I was watching the game where the team I was cheering for lost. I, however, did not blame the refs, the time keeper, the phase the moon was in at the time, or the water girl for our defeat. It was an experience I hoped we learned from and can improve our play as a result. That's all---oh...and good day to you too.

Last year he taunted certain St Pat players during the All A game everytime they passed his bench. He even moved one of them before an inbounds pass. And this year he was at it again. Making insulting comments about one of the SPS players when she was in earshot of him. This is an untruth that should never be allowed to be posted on this site. I have no idea about the St. Pat girls at the Mason game because I was actually watching the game, but this is a stupid lie from a sore loser. And, let's remember boys and girls: "People who don't know facts need to keep their assumptions to themselves."

This was a hard-fought, physical game. Nice win for the Lady Bears---way to go ladies! :thumb:

No...poor judgment would be believing a teenager without checking the validity of the claim in the first place. Poor judgment would be to then post that claim on a site such as this at risk of the reputation of the coach and school. It sounds like this kid heard what she wanted to hear. Giving them confidence is one thing, but also how about a dose of reality? If the girl hadn't played ball for a few years, don't you think it's possible that she would need to work really hard to catch up to those athletes who were working all year long on the same sport? Maybe that was what the coach was trying to explain and perhaps the girl really didn't want to work that hard. It sounds as if you have a personal issue with this school district and, perhaps, the best thing for all is probably just to try and move on. Focus on the present and leave the past in the past.

I consider myself to be a pretty darn good reader and I sensed your negative tone. So, maybe if you want to be more clear to other people, you should work on your tone. Give me a break! Why are you always so critical? Funny....in this thread Bracken's cupboard is full....in another.....they're in a rut. Which is it? Make up your mind. I'm fairly certain that a "good job girls and coaches...keep up the hard work" would have been sufficient. :thumb: On a more important note......Way to go BC Lady Bears! My, my, my...yes--very classy. Classy enough to call a timeout during last year's district final against BC simply to pass out championship shirts to her team minutes before the buzzer sounded. Very classy indeed. I think Bracken's chances are a little better of beating NCC this year in the tourney than St. Patrick's--since BC is advancing. As far as referees go---if BC wants to get a "home-cooked" game, our best bet is to travel to an away game. Bottom line--Bracken County played with heart, became leaders on the floor, and wanted it just a little more than St. Patrick. TO THE LADY BEARS: Congrats to you, Lady Bears, on a hard fought game. I finally saw you play to your potential and you rocked it. Don't let these biased posters put limits on what you can achieve. You proved last night to all present that when you put your mind to it and play as a team---there are no limits to your success. You Go Girls----have faith and move mountains!:ylsuper:

The school district where my children go is quite small. Most of the girls' athletic programs see reasonable success. If, however, the girls were required to choose only one sport, our other sports would greatly suffer. Coming from such a small district, our talented athletes have to play multiple sports in order for our teams to compete and be successful. Choosing only one sport is really not an option.

Yet again...way to pump 'em up, All In. That's it...give them the encouragement they need.

Oh, please! All In, it's a shame that you use this forum to put down Chad and hide behind your avatar in order to do it. It is obvious that you have personal issues with Coach Persinger and therefore fail to see reality. This forum doesn't have anything to do with the softball team. It seems to me that nobody in administration or otherwise (unless they had a kid playing on the team) ever gave a hoot about the softball team until now. Suddenly, we can't quit talking about them. It's sickening the way you put down the softball team and any other team Persinger is affiliated with. It's right down sickening. And you shouldn't be allowed to do it---kids read this stuff and they don't need to hear about how you see their accomplishments as "underachieving" ---simply because you're out to get their coach.:idunno:

I'll take a stab at answering one of your questions. Yes, the middle school produces talent. As a matter of fact, the middle school trains and sends competitive teams to the high school almost every single year. Please, don't put down the middle school programs which continue to have winning seasons year after year. Perhaps, the problem is at a higher level than the middle school. Maybe turnover rate plays a part in that up there. A chance? Why, a chance is what our administration isn't willing to give to one of our own. Coach Persinger has had great success with the junior high and if I'm not mistaken, he was an assistant at the high school level at one time. Besides that, can you guess which varsity sports program has been the most successful for the past few years and looks like there's many more to come? FASTPITCH SOFTBALL-- Coach Persinger is also the coach of this program. And, while this is a boys basketball thread, mentioning softball is only to prove that this coach gives 110% to every sport he coaches. He puts his heart into it and his teams reap the benefits. I'm not trying to run the new coach out the door. Believe me, if the past repeats itself then this is just a stepping stone; he'll be gone soon enough on his own accord. It seems like we've been down this road before.:thumb: (evidently we are slow learners at BC) Groundhog's Day marathon anyone? While it's true that administration has the final say I think it's pretty pathetic that she chose to ignore the voices of her parent representatives. I guess this should send a message loud and clear. Something sure is stinking in BC--dirty rotten politics.

It is not false and I wish I had access to a tape so I could prove it; she was still in the game with less than two minutes left in the game. I'm not anti-Royal, I'm just voicing my opinion on an observation. Sure, BC and MC girls both worked hard...that has nothing to do with the fact that Chambers was still in the game in the last minutes. Can't really commend much to that either.
