Bracken Co. Lady Bears win Freshman Region

Featured Replies

The Bracken Co. Lady Bears defeated Nicholas Co. and Paris yesterday to win the Freshman Region. This is the 2nd time in 4 years that Bracken Co. has won the Freshman region.

Great Job Ladies!:clap::clap::clap:

Congrats to Coach Conley and Coach Kelsch on the championship. A little birdie told me that coach Conley has been getting an ear full of tips from a coach at his place of employment:ylsuper: Just kidding, outstanding job and congrats to the Lady Bears and staff!

The cubbard is full for Lady Bears baskeball and softball over the next several years, and winning the freshman region deserves applause, but lets not rest on those laurels. Many, many, many a Bracken County Girls or Boys teams has won freshman and middle school honors and then gone on to be continously beat by those same teams they beat in middle and freshman when they move on to JV or Varsity. So PK and CP, keep coaching these ladies up year round.

As if they weren't going to in the first place? :eyeonyou: I'm sure these two coaches are aware if the cupboard is indeed full. From what I've seen, your girls basketball coach has been doing that. If the information I'm reading is accurate, he's had the team in the regional tournament two years in a row (going on 3?) and won a small-school championship this season.

As for your softball coach, it appears that his team has enjoyed quite a bit of success lately. I'm not exactly a ladies softball fan, but I'm seeing a 2009 record of 25 wins to 13 losses with a small school championship, district title, and regional final four berth.

From my vantage point, these two men are already doing what you're asking.

This thread was started so these young girls could get the credit they deserve for all the hard-work they have put into practice this year. It was not started so two people who wish they were each other could argue over year around stuff between softball and basketball.

Give me a break! Why are you always so critical? Funny....in this thread Bracken's cupboard is full....in another.....they're in a rut. Which is it? Make up your mind.

I'm fairly certain that a "good job girls and coaches...keep up the hard work" would have been sufficient. :thumb:

On a more important note......Way to go BC Lady Bears! You deserve the win---you ladies fought hard for the title! I love your scrappy play and fast paced style! You girls are awesome!:dancingpa

Bracken's cupboard is full is a critical comment, in what universe? And a team can be in a rut is a comment, not a critical comment, just like a team is on fire is a comment:irked:. My comment was to congratulates the young ladies and to REMIND the coaching staff to keep coaching them up so they can keep acheiving and not under acheiving:thumb:, don't know what some people are reading or reading into sometimes.:ohbrother:

So, their cupboard is full or they're in a rut, which is it?

a team is on fire=positive

a team is in a rut=negative

the cupboard is full=positive

the cupboard is empty=negative

rest on your laurels =negative

It's called "tone". I consider myself to be a pretty darn good reader and I sensed your negative tone. So, maybe if you want to be more clear to other people, you should work on your tone. Sorry if I misunderstood.:puke:

You've got him pegged. He's a self-described 'fickle fan' (http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?p=3717389#post3717389). Interestingly enough, one of the definitions for 'fickle' is 'not constant or loyal in affections.' :sssh:
