Agree PK, Bourbon County matches up with Montgomery as far as personell on the court. They match with speed and size. Bourbon and Montgomery run a similiar style of offense, they like to utilize their size plus shooting ability so this should be a dandy of a 1st round District matchup. Both are well coached. Must give Mason County credit, they were not going to be denied in the second half of this game.

Both King boys played as well as their point guard, cant recall his name. Very nice team that fielded only 7 players.

Mason freshman advance to region finals against Campbell Co. with a win over Deming 47 to 36. Treg Setty led the Royals with 18, Jordan Gilbert chipped in 13. The Royals (19-1) play in the finals Thursday night at 7pm.

The more a kid plays at any level the better they are going to be in the long run. If you are a freshman and your coach wants you to play freshman, jayvee, and varsity and your body is able to sustain it, then you will no doubt become better.

As an administrator and site base council who do you field to be your next head coach . The Lady Royals will be very young for the next couple of years and it is very important to get the right person for the job. Any thoughts?:argue:

Don't believe I am at all, but I will just leave this conversation by saying there is no way you see better basketball despite whatever the cost is by viewing a Montgomery vs Paris boys game when you have the 3 time defending girls regional champion playing a team that has pulled a huge upset earlier in the season the same night. I am not being negative, I just can't understand why cost matters come tournament time and especially when you view a Montgomery vs Paris boys matchup instead of the MC vs BC girls matchup that has the makings to be better.

Should Montgomery County Lady Indians make the regional tournament(which I think will happen), based on the financial standpoint thinking with the 40th District Tournament layout, the Lady Indians won't have too many in attendace should they make the regional tournament. If its a strain to go from Mt. Sterling to Winchester, then its a no brainer that you don't go to Northern Kentucky for the regional.:eek:

Not sure why it would make sense from financial standpoint as where do you get your monies worth watching Montgomery boys ranked 2nd vs Paris at bottom of the region or watching Montgomery girls ranked 1st playing against the only team in the region to beat the Lady Indians in Bourbon County. By any means I am not trying to tell anyone how to spend their money, but the better game will be in Winchester.

Most outside of the district are used to things running smoothly in their districts and not some train wreck operation of brackets like I am reading in the 40th. :sssh:

Being the big GRC fan you are, you should know that the 10th regional tourney at the freshman level had not been played.:flame:

I typed what you were implying, I have posted every freshman game for Mason County win or lose, so for me not to post the regional tourney scores for Mason County sounds like I would be a sore loser. I will post win or lose after Wednesday's game. Again, good luck to all teams involved.

So you are saying, there is no need to play and everyone is going to roll over and let Mason just waltz in and take the title. Everyone knows it just doesnt happen this way, just look at last years 10th region tourney. That is why kids lace up the sneakers and compete. Good luck to all teams involved.

Clark County plays Campbell County 6pm. Mason County plays Deming at 730pm. Both games are Wednesday at Campbell County. 2 winners advance to finals on Thursday at 7pm.

Might as well go ahead and throw the gasoline on the fire because this just go to show you there is no vision, no experience and poor planning in whoever decided this route. Looks like March will be a mess....

Can anyone confirm if Deming played a freshmen schedule this season?

Temps are due to rise with this weather pattern, depending on when it starts could dictate if this game happens or not. Of course its up to the traveling school in most cases as to whether they come if school is out or not. I guess we will have to wait and see, but history speaks for itself, if Mason is out of school, but the opposing school is able to travel, this one will be played. Seems like always, when it snows, it never factors whether a game is played when schools are out unless a lot of white stuff and ice is dumped on us.

Draw will be held for both the boys and the girls Friday at Bracken County High School at 10am.

Who will be hosting this district tournament this year?

I can tell you right now that the team that has played for Coach Butler all season long will be the team that he has with him on Saturday or Sunday. I can say this from past experiences. I had a daughter that played for Coach Butler and this topic was asked at the beginning of that season and he said absolutely not. What he starts with is what he finishes with unless there are numerous injuries or so on. imo, if you believe talk from a kid then it would make me believe that you would believe anything and that might get anyone in trouble.
