I might be wrong for once, but maybe Larry from 1968 had a son and named him after himself. Nonetheless, he was an excellent player on an excellent team, GRC4LIFE is correct, and he did go to Union College. I stand corrected.

1986 Clark County Cardinals. The coach was Guy Strong, very talented x's and o's coach. Their lineup includes Ron Handshoe(Hanover College),Eric Williams(Head Coach at Tates Creek), Rick Burkehead(UK Football), Larry Gay(Union College), and Steve Schureman(Virgina Tech and Georgetown College). Very athletic and disciplined team. I cant remember how far they went in state, but I think they got beat by Pulaski County and Reggie Hanson.

Please include some of the players names, former coaching greats that roamed the sidelines, etc...

Who knows, when the next realignment takes place, GRC and Montgomery both might be opposite of Mason County and then all this discussion will be over and non existent. I am really confused by the discussion of where the crowd sits, and Montgomery sitting on the visitors side? I was over watching the game the Montgomery County girls played against Highlands on a Saturday in the Kentucky Preps Classic and Montgomery fans were positioned in the same place as they were the other night when they played Pendleton. Montgomery was the home team against Highlands. I am really confused after reading all of this.

You are the one who complained in this thread first,therefore you are the whiner. Remember it is about the game. Montgomery was to big for Coach Simms and his young Wildcats. I am very proud of Maysville native Chad Simms and the job he did with the adversity he faced this year. The future looks bright in Falmouth with Coach Simms at the helm.

If you honestly think that this "arena or palace" can hold a 10th region final between any of the four schools left you are sadly mistaken. If Mason gets by Clark and Montgomery beats Scott, there will be many unhappy people.:flame::flame::fire::ylsuper::fight::argue:

Actually some of the local businesses are wiring money to us so we can bring a decent crowd to fill the so called "palace." After the Wednesday and Thursday's sessions the businesses in Mt.Sterling are really going to have to step up to the plate and replace the gate money lost to participating schools. What a shame.... and to beat all the snowstorm expected is going to push games back until the first of the week which will hurt attendance as well. DIG DEEP!!!

Girls Draw will be held at Campbell County at 10:30 am Saturday. Girls quarterfinals will be Monday-Tuesday, Semifinals Friday and Championship game will be Saturday night.

Pendleton County in a close one. 65-62

Montgomery led 20-13 after 1, 35-25 at the half, 45-41 after 3 quarters. Montgomery came out on a 13-0 run to start the 4th quarter and led by as many as 17. They never were up by 19 points. 58-41 was the score with 4 minutes left and Clark County went on a 20-4 run to end the game. Elizabeth Prewitt went to the line with 9 seconds left for 1 and the bonus leading 60-58 and connected on both free throws to go up 62-58, Holland of Clark County hit a three on the buzzer to make the final 62-61. Tall thin girl for Montgomery was in foul trouble all night, Lee's 13 were deceiving for double figures, she was really silent in the second half. M. Prewitt gets to the basket better than any guard in the region and sometimes throws up prayers but great players get those to go down. Radio crew said Clark shot themselves out of the 1st half, settled for the 3 point shot too much. Holland sounds like she is the glue to the Lady Cards. They are the wild card in the region draw, somebody will have a tough first round game, unless like their coach says if this team that played tonight shows up we will be tough to beat. Clark has been inconsistent to hear their coach talk.
