That was my point. I know the Ashland staff would gladly accomodate the Lady Royals under normal circumstances but the Feb 12th proposal causes 4 games in 5 days and that is a lot for any coach to agree to so close to the post season. Granted, you have to win 3 games in a short time to win the region but you also want to be fresh going into the post season.

I would only consider this a mild upset if at all. GRC does not have a great record but Rowan only beat them by 6 in the 5/3rd in December. This is only an 8 point turnaround. Mild upset at best.

Johnson Central has a good ballclub. This was a good game for Ashland to help them get ready for post season play. Enjoyable game to watch.

Is this game going to be played on Feb 2?? I heard tonight that Rose Hill decided to reschedule this due to their boys playing in the All "A". They play on Thursday 1/31 with no guarantee that they will be playing in the semi's on Sat 2/2. Did they also cancel their game with Raceland on 2/1 because if they win on Thursday they will be playing on Friday? Just curious because both games are still on their schedule but I heard they already called to cancel the officials for their game with Ashland on Sat. Isn't this a little premature?? Especially since the Ashland game is a district game. From what I understand they proposed a make-up date that would give Ashland 4 games in 5 days. Be surprised if that one flies.

Raceland sets up a little 3 game "Cupcake City" in the Lady Ram Classic. Not a bad way to fill up the schedule. Prior to Vanderhoof's injury I am sure they had planned to be playing in the All A state tournament this week. Hope she gets some good news next week along with Clark.

I agree. Saw her against Boone Co earlier this year and she was unreal. I have been to the state tournament and have seen many of the others mentioned on here and without a doubt, Reid is the best I have seen.

I'll bet they would still vote to seed and take their chances against the #1 seed this year because they know that seeding is the right thing to do. Who knows, we just may see the 63rd seed next year. :sssh:

I can tell you as a coach that if the players were exactly even in ability the senior will probably start, the freshman will play as much as the senior and whoever is playing the best or is the better matchup in that game will be playing at crunch time. I have seen seniors who are 6 foot post players complain because a 5'5" freshman guard is starting and they are not. They didn't care that they were playing different positions. It is no guarantee that you will start or even play just because you are a senior and come to practice everyday.

If the coach feels that the freshman is better in that situation and gives the team a better chance to win, they play whether it is the "senior's last All A" or not. Remember, a parent may think they are equal but they are sometimes blinded by love. The coach is objective and it is their job to put the best players on the floor at any given time. Basketball is a team sport where the idea is to win at the varsity level, not make the seniors feel good. If you can use the senior then do so but if you want equal or guaranteed playing time, you play rec league ball.

The only downer is you guys getting on and off the bandwagon. It's ok to be disappointed but your obvious jabs at the coach take away from the team and become a major distraction. Just appears that all year the Walton fans have had to point a finger everytime they lose. When they are winning it's great but when they stub their toe, it's the coach's fault. You won by 1 and lost by 4. My guess is if you played 10 times it would end up 5-5. Basketball is a game of runs. Just because you go up 16 on a tean does not mean you are better. If they survive the run and are able to make a run at you then you have to survive the run. Again, looks like 2 pretty evenly matched teams to me.

He's saying that Rose Hill will forfeit the final on Friday if they make it because they are already scheduled to play Raceland in a regular season game. I think he was joking.

I know you have to be posting this tongue in cheek because IF Rose Hill & Fairview were to win and play in the finals on Friday they would reschedule with Raceland. Actually if Rose Hill & Fairview win then the underdog will have won both games in the semi's. I honestly look for Bath to beat Fairview.

Maybe the coach just wanted to lose on purpose. During the Walton win streak everyone was going on about how great things were now and that the coach & players were now on the same page. 1 loss and we're back on the coach again. Give it up!! You all only beat them by 1 the first time so it's not a stretch that they beat you this time by 4.

Morgan's been playing really well lately. If Elliott beats West there will be 3 teams ( East, Elliott, Morgan) tied with the same record in the district. What are the seeds if Elliott beats West?? What happens if Elliott loses to West?? This is the toughest district in the 16th region from top to bottom.
