They tried this a few years ago and it didn't work out. They only practiced for a week and then played the game. (It was ugly) The Baby Birds didn't fare to well against Red Devils.

Ft. Thomas has their own junior football league. They get more kids involved playing football this way. More playing time and more opportunity for kids to learn to play.

What kind of shape is MC football field. Is there grass or mud? With the amount of rain predicted this could change some offensive play calling. I know that the Bird's practiced down in Happy Valley yesterday. They were trying to simulate playing conditions for Friday.

Good win for the Poineer's. Look's like your program's turning the corner. As for my Bird's, this group has as much talent as any of the last few freshmen team's at Highlands. They also have alot of growing up to do also. Too many unsportsman like pentalities. Maybe SK with this turnaround will start scheduling my Bird's on a regular season game. It use to be a big game back in the late 70's and early 80's.

I'm going with Highlands on best turn around. Last year they were 7-5 and this year 8-0 with a #1 ranking. I bet there aren't many teams with that kind change. Not that last years schedule had anything to do with a 7-5 record.

I agree with Ln. I think that this game will be a lot closer than people expect. I think the Birds win by 7 to 10 pts. This will be a great challenge for the Birds with LexCath's speed and quickness. Have a good week of practice and bring it on Friday. Go Bird's!

I'd like to add a few more names to the list; Ted Abner, Mick Abner , Bill Jurgens, Mark Ball, Jack Hurtt, Tom Cecil, John Beck,Mark Bardo, and I know there will be more that I have forgotten. This type of committment is what makes Highland's so special!

They are having a hard time drawing fan's to the home games this year. Just thought that a night game would draw more people.

Yes to your first ? The Bird's played Trotwood-Madison and they had a reciever that has already signed with Purdue. Austin Collinsworth had the honor of covering this young man and he did an excellent job. I think that Austin has done a great job playing corner for the Bird's considering he has alway's been a lb'er in the past. Austin(A. C. aka.. The Cooler) will be up for the challenge. He's 6'1" and weigh's 180 lbs. and run's pretty well.

It look like something was going on late at the football field last night. I drove by about 11:00 pm and all the light's were on. I hope Dale didn't have them boy's out there working out that late. It looked like some pretty big fellas out there.

This is CovCath week isn't it for the Bird's? It just doesn't seem like there's not much talk about this game. It seems like all HHS posters on here. Will the Colonel's student section be filled for this game? I went to the NC-CovCath game and it seem like there must have been something else going on because their student section was not filled. Are the blueboy's not following their team like they did last year?

Great win Baby Birds! This team look's to be coming together quite well. Austin Abner look's like he's going to be a great leader for these young Bird's. There is plenty of talent on this team and I think that Coach Barr is still trying to find the right mix of kid's that play well together. Good Luck Baby Bird's.
