Is there any scrimmages coming up for the cats, and when is the grid o rama at Knox Central?

Thanks for the info. There were kids out there hustleing and making plays but I was not sure who they were. There was a back that I couldnt figre out who it was. I thought it might be Josh Smith but maybe it was Dylan Napier. He looked to be a good sized kid with speed.

Ok I was in attendance for Midnite madness tonight and the boys looked good. Sidney wagner looked in great shape and ran like a stud. Jonah Mitchell looked impressive and can cut on a dime. Brad Bargo looked unstopable on the defensive line. I am ready for some Lynn Camp football. Where was Wesley Steele? I couldnt spot him on the field nor his parents in the stand. Also how come Tyrone Persons did not dress? I was very impressed with Cody Sapcut tonight, that kid is a player.

Jimmy was an all around great player. He reached the end zone every way possible. Aginst Somerset his senior year he Took a kick off back, Interception, ran and caught a pass for touchdowns .

Joe signed with Union College. If not for injury the past 2 years he could have played div 1 in my opinion. He was just behind Quention Henson for the best that I have seen roll out of LC.

I really think Lynn camp will win the district title this year. they really built their offense around joe last year and fell apart offensively when he went down. going into this year We will be led by running backs Sid Wagner and Wesley Steele which should be one of the best duos around. Jonah mitchell is back at Qb and will be a big play maker as he proved the last 2 years. I think we all know The hitmen run,run, and run, but I think we might see Sid line up some at WR. That stingy defense return along with all of the starting offensive line.

I know this discussion is on Chad Merida and from everything I have read or heard he is an amazing Athlete, but I too do not feel he will be used to his abilities in that system. This is all of course no offense to SL because they found a system that is sucessful to them. I do take offense to someone bring in Lynn Camp Student athletes into this thread by degrading them. I am amazaed at what Coach Mitchell and staff is able to do with only 24-28 kids coming out to play. I do think Lynn Camp has had some D1 talant that has been overlooked because of being a small school " over shadowed " by Corbin and Knox central who get more press by the papers, more praise from the town, and more favoratism by the school board.

Congradulations to Joe. Im glad he went Local so I can watch him play more. I will say this.... In all my years of watching or playing High School Football he is one of the best running backs ive seen. He has a quick first step, ability to cut and brake away speed. He has a gift for seeing the open hole and following the seam. Last year he also proved that he is a leader. So once again congradulations Joe as well as Union.

Im very Excited about this years Lynn Camp Wildcats. Last years defensive was one of the Best I've seen since watching the cats and they return 8 starters . The entire offensive line returns, I was amazed what that young group was able to do last year. Jonah Mitchell should be Under Center with Sid Wagner and Wes Steele in the back field. Joe is hard to replace but I also remember saying that when Quenton Henson, Dusty Brock, Jimmy Chaffin and Josh Reynolds Graduated. I think Coach Mitchell must have a Running Back Factory or farm somewhere. As far as Lynn Camp being tough they have always been a very tough and physical team. Most kids play offese, defense, and special teams with very little substitution if any.

Yes, He was at Pulaski Co a few years back assisting on offense for 3 years when Pulaski was rolling. He coached UK tight end Tyler Sexton his jr & sr year when Pulaski was putting up 48 pts per contest. At East Jessamine he was Defensive Coordinator for 2 years and also Head Coach on JV. He also Coached Middle school basketball at Pulaski co and East Jessamine. If you are a Whitley co fan I believe you have alot to look forward to the next couple of years with the Coaching and Talant that is in place.

Phil Russell is whom you are referring to. He has been with Pulaski co and East Jessamine prior to coming to Whitley. He doesnt have the years of experience Cotton Adams has but I wouldnt say he is untested.

Great win for Lynn Camp ! It was one of the best high school basketball games that i've been to. Lynn Camp played with alot of heart and desire after no one but Les and Coach Pennington predicting them to win. I was so proud of them today when I read the Corbin paper, there was some really good write ups about the game in there. Pineville, hold your heads up high. You are an Very good basketball team. You had a great year and represented your school and community well, I know they are all proud of you.

I thought Lynn Camp had pretty good pressure behing the 3 point line, but harlan passed very well, used the pick and roll and sometimes shot some pretty deep 3's. They are a better team than what their record reflects.

Harlan was very impressive from 3 point land but seemed to struggle in the paint shooting and rebounding, they also looked pretty young. Any rundowns on Roster? seniors,jr's ect............

Not sure about Cotton but I heard Phil Russell is the new Defensive Coordinator. He was previously at Pulaski co and East Jessamine most recently. I know Phil and he has a passion for coaching and will be a big impact to the program.:thumb:

The biggest suprise to me was listening to the Williamsburg game with them ahead 22-6 with 7 minutes left with the ball and turning the radio off, then opening the saturday morning paper seeing the final 38-36 Campbellsville.

It is sad to see Cumberland play their last game, but what a great season they had. From the game I saw them play in they have a good group of athletes. I am not sure how many graduate and how many move on but the Harlan County Black Bears may be fun to watch after consolidating three frine teams.

I turned the game off with 7 minutes left and Williamsburg was up 22-6. When I picked the Times Tribune up I couldnt believe it and thought it was an error. One question for anyone who was at the game... Why was Williamsburg passing that late in the game with a 16 point lead deep in their own teritory? Moses was picking up good yardage, why not run the ball and punt if you have to? let the defense handle it, the defense played the best they had all year.

We made good progress on pitches and runs around the end including sids 39 yard td, but for some reason didnt go to that very much. If Will Moses has any kind of speed and can break the corner it may go for big gains. Off tackle aginst CHS is a waste of time.

This game was a defensive battle with middlesboro coming out on top. The 2 special teams plays made it seem like a 21-0 walk in the park but it was a much closer game. congrads to the jackets and good luck in the post season.

Anybody know the status of Hunter Adams? Heard he Left the South Laurel game earley with an injury.
