I would not read or post if people could say anything without any restraints. They have a board in Tenn that is moderated but not nearly as well as BGP. It gets pretty nasty sometimes and kids are usually the first ones to read it! BGP is outstanding at keeping posters under control, even in the Politics and Religion board, LOL!!:thumb:

Thanks for the valuable info, Offside. You cleared it up for me when you said the rule about the free blocking zone in the "shotgun" formation was changed a couple of years ago. I guess I need to attend the rules clinic more instead of just having my name signed,lol.

The field is legal when the officials allow play to begin.

If the offense is in the shotgun, when the ball is snapped, there is no "free blocking zone" because the ball has to be in the zone. In the shotgun, it leaves immediately. And if the ball is in the free blocking zone, a blocker cannot come from outside the zone and cut block in the zone. Cut blocking is legal all the time as long as the blocker is one on one and he engages the defender high first.

You're right. Wrestling and football are complementary. The problem with having a wrestling team is finding competition. I cant think of any schools in the area that have wrestling. McCreary Central, Sheldon Clark, and Johnson Central off the top of my head. How many others??

Bayshore makes important points. Although depth is important, it seems to have become more something to pay lip service. I remember in the day that most of us went both ways and it didnt seem to be a big deal. However, we also had plenty of good scout team players to get you ready during the week and there was also plenty of JV action for those not getting to play as much varsity. In other words, there was plenty for everyone to do.:thumb:

I usually dont know much for certain but you are wrong on this one. Phillips was the head coach at Evarts for one year in the early 80's before he went to Lincoln. I remember he was voted coach of the year in Kentucky a few years later and he didnt even list Evarts on his Vita Sheet(cant say as I blame him because they were 1-9 or 1-10)! Its no knock on him because Evarts was a tough place to coach back then because of the stigma left over from the death penalty that they received!:thumb:
