Still cold weather, high water, and low water temperatures. April is prime time. The Tennessee travel restriction is only a suggestion and not being enforced. Ride it out here or ride it out there. We were not scheduled in until the 21st this spring, but I'm seriously thinking of moving it up.

CWB - New York and New Jersey have a serious problem. Never did I say that there wouldn't come a time when we too (NoKy) would reach numbers where drastic measures would not have to be implemented, BUT we still do not have a serious problem. Escalating yes, but still not close to epidemic proportions. NoKy has 87 cases and 5 deaths (most over 80). How long ago was it that I posted that 19 number??? Quite a while ago. Kentucky has been...

^^ Even I would agree that to wait for a 30% school absence rate would be totally foolhardy. BUT that's how it had been done in the past. I very much still contend that we jumped the gun and have done all of the isolation things at least two weeks too soon. I still contend that I don't have it. My neighbors don't have it, no one in my subdivision has it, and no one in most towns have it. So, my rational is that we've jumped through...

I've never said that we shouldn't be vigilant. Never said we shouldn't be washing our hands, and where possible social distancing, short of closing down our country. I am saying that I think this should be being handled on a more localized basis, and I like the way Tennessee handled it, and dislike the way Ohio and Kentucky are handling it. . In the past when absentee rates hit around 30% in our schools they closed down until the thing...

IMO, I think their timing is perfect. Their numbers now show that they need to go to Plan B to curb it. Meanwhile for the past two and a half weeks we have been living in our bubbles, waiting for some shoe to drop, that may or may not happen for days or weeks ahead. I honestly believe that had we implemented the prevention measures beginning tomorrow (if our numbers support it) our state of affairs would be better off for it. Nobody is...

While I'm sure much has been done voluntarily, this is the first weekend that Tennessee restaurants are going to the drive-thru/carry-out option. Tennessee has not participated with Ohio and Kentucky in the plus-two week shutdown, group restrictions and stay-at-home mandate that their neighbors to the north have experienced. It will be interesting to see how their numbers compare to ours as a result, in the long run.

I think what we have here are the mentalities of two opposite generations and extremes. We, the older generation who are at a higher risk, still stick to our - "The world has gone mad" and "the show must go on" mentality, and sadly shake our collective heads, while the younger bubble wrap generation, fueled by their Facebook pages and a rabid media, clinging to their every word, believes that through extremes, we can all be saved, despite the...

You are not listening to what I'm saying. For the past two weeks there has been NO THREAT in our area. We have all lost two weeks of our former normal life that we will not get back. Dollars in our pockets that we will not get back, lost classroom hours that we will not get back, and experiences with our kids that we will not get back. We have been protecting ourselves from ourselves, who are not threats. Until it is brought into our...

Two full weeks of the COVID-19 Prevention. Two weeks of those of us who do not have this virus, cloistering ourselves in our homes, protecting ourselves from others of ourselves who do not have this virus. Two weeks that our kids could have been going to school, could have played the State Basketball Tournaments, played the NCAA Tournament, wouldn't have lost thousands and thousands in the stock market, and could be out supporting local...

The ironic thing about Danny Boy,is that no respectable Irish band performing in Ireland will play it, because it is not authentic Irish. It was written in New York City, USA.

Interesting that hotels have slashed their rates in half. Another Catch 22. Great cheap rates! No reason to go to their city. In Lexington, rooms that would be going for over $100 tonight because of the State Basketball Tournament, are on sale for $66. Many 4-Stars advertising $46. Paisano's lost my annual double order of Veal Piccata tonight. They do deliver, but I doubt to Northern Kentucky.

^^ I have no other choice. I and millions of others like me, are being enforced into compliance. Nowhere does it say that I don't respect the threat of this becoming a widespread disease. I simply don't understand the present day logic of shutting down the world, just in case, and inducing a national panic among our citizens, which we are very much in the midst of, making the effect much more serious than the cause. I respect the...

Wait!!! Hold the Phone!!! Maybe this isn't such a bad thing after all. No lines, excellent service, hot food, no hassle. Alas, this too came to an end at 5pm on Monday. In my travels I passed the Longneck saloon/restaurant in Wilder. Overflow crowd parking in the empty chili parlor lot next door.

I think that this message was sent when Holmes dropped all of their sports programs from being a Division I school, down to Division II. At the moment, they are a perfect fit in DivisionII, they compete, but do not dominate. Reynolds Flynn used to say that it only takes five. As such, Holmes certainly has the potential to have a group come up together that could again compete for a regional title.

I too enjoyed your insights, and personal opinions. Too often, the tendency is to write black and white, fact and figures reports and stay on the straight and narrow. You got out to see games and shared what you saw with us first hand. I did not see CovCath, Conner, Cooper, Dixie, Dayton and others play in person this year, but were able to follow them and their progress through your intuitions, and those of others here in the forum. ...

Its interesting, but not surprising, that those of us over 60, because of our experience and up-bringing are the ones who are still trying to live a normal life, and its the younger generation, who are not the endangered species here, who are barricading themselves behind closed doors, and drinking the "stop living your lives" cool-aid. I'm on the verge of hooking my boat to the truck and heading to Counce, Tennessee where those rednecks are...

Understand that I would have been found dead at my table in the Zebra Room complaining about some little grease fire in the kitchen delaying the show. But, It's a flu threat for God's sake. There have been over 180,000 cases of the "flu" this winter and life goes on. The elderly and infirmed die of the flu and pneumonia. It's a fact of life. This has created a hysteria never seen before Take precautions - Yes! Shut down the world...

Being single and selfish, I'm only concerned about how it affects and inconveniences me, and I'm not a bit happy about it. No State Tournament, No Keeneland, No High School Baseball Season. No Friday Fish Fries. I'm somewhat livid about it.. I've had the flu before, and it was the worse that I have ever been sick, BUT I recovered and survived. Despite the fact that I'm 72 and diabetic, I have EVERY CONFIDENCE that if I were to...
