Bishop Brossart 45 Pendleton County 14

Featured Replies

Mustangs finish their regular season play at 5-5 with a 45-14, "Battle of US 27" conquest of the Pendleton County Wildcats, who end their season at 1-9.

The two teams went eye to eye through the first quarter that saw the Wildcats lead 7-6 with 7:44 remaining in the first stanza, but that was a close as they would come on this night.

Brossart started the scoring, capping off a 68 yard drive with a 14 yard Anthony Schuck run, making it 6-0 when the PAT was no good.  The Cats countered with an 11 yard Elijah Barhorst to Jackson Hannah score and led 7-6 with a successful PAT.

The Mustangs put three scores on the board in the second period - a 15 yard Bentley McKinzie run, with the PAT, a one yard Landon Spaulding plunge, and a 67 yard touchdown aerial from Spaulding to Nick Cozzi making it 33-7 at the half.

Brossart added two more scores in the third period, a 5 yard pass form Spaulding to Landon Ruth, and a Pick Six by Isaac Amin.  Pendleton did counter with their final touchdown of the game, an Elijah Barhorst to his brother Kegan touchdown pass that went for 45 yards.

Final score Brosart 45, Pendleton County 14

Brossart hosts an improving Bellevue squad next Friday night in the opening round of the KHSAA Class 1A playoffs.  Game time is 7pm at the Mustang Athletic Complex in Alexandria.
