Don't forget about DeSales. Won the 6th region in 1979.

Yes they did. It's really hard to look at the regional winners' page on the KHSAA's website because every school's name starts with "Louisville." Tough to find a specific school among Louisville Jefferson, Louisville DeSales, Louisville Male, Louisville Central, Louisville Shawnee, Louisville Butler, etc. It makes that page as difficult to manage as possible.

Awesome starting 5 with no bench. Brooks, Schneider, Woerner, McCauley & Cozzens. When Brooks fouled out with 3+ minutes left in the game and (I believe) a 13 point lead, DeSales promptly imploded.

Due to where I sat, I could not hear anything coming from X student section but saw Mr Drury standing in front row and I promise he would not allow the things you are suggesting and if some inappropriate chants or words started they would be squashed. I did sit near T section and to think they were choir boys is amusing. Sounds like both toed the line but to make assumptions about either school's "Class" is not accurate.

I am not suggesting, I heard. You can say that he wouldn't allow what I heard. There are only two choices. Either they chose not to stop their students or they couldn't stop their students. Either one is disturbing.

To think X's kids did not use more racially charged chants and to further think that X's administration was not more passive in their control of their students is plain silly. My X friends at the game (several of them) all concede that. I am in no way saying that T kids are "better" than X kids; I understand the "kids will be kids" concept, but that does not excuse that racially charged cheer and it REALLY does not excuse the X administration for letting it go on (though in all fairness I kind of felt like the administration didn't really catch on.) When your minority students leave the student section to watch from a different part of the gym you know something is awry. X just went over the line a bit, but now it's over.

My favorites cheers from the game: X's "What's your salary?" while they waved $1 bills (implying T pays for players), to which T responded "Counterfeit!". That's pretty funny. And when James Quick spit the X defense for a layup and the T students chanted "Just like football!" - you gotta give them some creative credit.

The "Thanks for practice!" at the end of the game was amusing too.

As an aside, I always envied the X cheer at football games of "Go St. X... beat the weeds!" T doesn't have any fall back cheer that is that good.

Final thought: If X had beaten T by 20+ then this thread might be see-sawing in the other direction(?). It's easy to have amusing/creative cheers when you are winning; tougher when you are looking defeat squarely in the eye.

Glad the Choir boys in your end zone were perfect...

At least the choir boys at Trinity were smart enough to not brag about how they meant each of their racial chants on twitter for all the world to see.

If true, I am sure he will be suspended, expelled or something of the sort. There was a kid expelled for making stupid threats a couple weeks ago on the internet.

I find it funny that even though Trinity is awesome in Football and Basketball some still try and attack X.

Do you really believe if one knucklehead shouts a racial slur X admin would not squash it...

One of my favorite Trinity cheers we used back in the 60's was "Rocks have what X-LAX" Still pretty funny today

Why "Louisville"? Does the KHSAA put "Lexington" in front of the Lexington schools? Are they singling out Louisville

area schools? Just curious.

I don't know. I don't have enough experience with either school to have an informed opinion on your question. I think they may have just missed it. The kid that sent the tweet out bragging about their intended racist chants has deleted that tweet but I saw it with my own eyes before it was deleted. I even passed it on to Getslow. FWIW I don't think any less of X. It's unfortunate but I am not nor will I judge X based on what some students chanted at a basketball game. I'm obviously speaking for myself only as well.

Must be a DeSales guy to know those names. I spent a lot of time with that team-my dad Lucian was the coach (but I am sure you knew that!!)

I was sitting directly across from the X student section so I really could not hear any of the racists comments if any were made. I did see the police escort one of their students out and they went up into the student section at least one other time. There had to be something to bring them up there...

No they don't. I assume they make sure to mention that it's "Louisville" Trinity or "Louisville" Ballard so that everyone knows that they're from that place where all the bad kids come from...

There is a Whitesville Trinity.
