Shelby Co. 72 Holmes 60

Final. Shelby led 58-56 with 5 minutes left. On 2 straight possessions they hit 3 FT then nailed a 3 pointer for a 64-56 lead that was never threatened. It was back and forth for 27 minutes, but the Rockets size finally prevailed in the end.

Impressive win for the Rockets.

They are very good. Big up front, athletic at every position, go 8 deep, and shot the ball very from the perimeter tonight. I hate to say it but I think the 8th Region Tournament is a formality.

Slaughter is a top 5 player and I would think they are a top 10, team maybe top 5.

Nice showing in the 5/3 by the Dogs. You can't always read too much into a tourney where a winning team plays 4 days in a row.

The inside players coming to life late in the game for Shelby and when Jefferson got in foul trouble was the end for the Bulldogs.

Why is Jefferson in constant foul trouble? He is reaching in alot and getting called for fouls or what? As fast as he is he should be able to move his feet and play good defense without reachin alot.

How many did chambers get? was he the force on the inside?

How about Wade?

He's aggressive on D and takes chances. Sometimes you get burnt.

What about 4 games in 3 days? :sssh:

3 days? I thought they played Monday thru Thursday?

Talking about the W-Sat grind in March.

I love agressive D but sometimes he's gonna have to be smarter about the chances he takes. He can consistently stay in foul trouble for them cuz it will come back to hurt them in big games.

I agree I've followed these kids as much as anyone. I love jefferson's game, but he needs to be smarter on his fouls.

Agreed, nice run by the Dogs. I am not surprised that Shebly Co. pulled this one out, they are very good. They will be a tough out come March.

They had no answers for either of these beasts.....They patrolled the paint and rebounded well in the clutch....Chambers has an impressive build and he used his body very well against the bulldogs early....Wade also had a nice game
