They had no answers for either of these beasts.....They patrolled the paint and rebounded well in the clutch....Chambers has an impressive build and he used his body very well against the bulldogs early....Wade also had a nice game

Holmes is hurt by bigger teams because they have 6'1 Henderson usually guarding the other teams PF.

Heard Holmes didn't play too badly, but Shelby County is just that good.

Jefferson picked up a couple of quick fouls after turnovers, which may have been out of frustration...

Why is Jefferson in constant foul trouble? He is reaching in alot and getting called for fouls or what? As fast as he is he should be able to move his feet and play good defense without reachin alot.

Everytime I've ever watched him he looks a little lazy on defense sometimes. Definitely too much reaching.

He is talking about the state tournament, I assume. Which is also why these tournaments with games on consecutive days can be important to a team.

You are dead on with that assertion about how Holmes played. They played this game extremely well and would have beaten a number of teams in the state with their effort. It was just like you said Shelby is that good. They were able to math Holmes athlete for athlete and then some. Shelby's post play was the difference Holmes had no answer. The kid guarding Chambers in the posts was completely hidden when Chambers posted and Wade blocked at least seven shots. A few of those he sent flying past press row and into the stands.

He couldn't help to be in foul trouble in this game. If he wasn't aggressive on defense Shelby would have scored in the post easier than they did. He just had to bang with two kids that were taller (6'8" Wade) and huge (6'6" & 240 lbs Chambers). He didn't pick up cheap fouls he just tried to do what he could to give Holmes a post presence.

I haven't seen Shelby Co. play this year, but if they are as good as everyone says they are, then they will win the 8th region because there is no one else in the 8th that can play with them.

I think SK can give them a run...they have some height and can shoot the ball.

However, I think SK can hang with them....if they shoot the ball well and the big kids stay out of foul trouble...

Shelby is bigger and much faster than everyone on SK but Hester. They will need to have an incredible shooting night to keep it a game.
