  1. 1. Which team will win?

Recommended Posts

One of the biggest first round games in the state this year. Holy Cross won the first matchup by 6 in OT in Latonia. Game is Wednesday at 6 PM at NKU Regents Hall. This game should be a battle, but I think HC pulls away in the end...

HC- 64

CCH- 56

What does everybody else think? Could a Mod please add a poll as well??

Why are districts at NKU?

Beexhwood is the host school and their gym only holds like 800. In order to make sure more fans can experience this game They allowed the Districts to be moved to Regents Hall. Smart move

I think this will be a Tight game and the best ticket in the state on Wed night. Unfortunately both teams cannot advance. I like HC to win by 2 pts.

If HC can force Ruthsatz away from the top of the key where his pull up jumper is deadly and pretty unstoppable, and limit Tobler's lay-ups, they should be in good shape. HC is the more talented team this year, but in one game, the more talented team doesn't always win. Still, I'll say HC by 8.

Should be a great game. If they played 10 times, I think the Indians would win 6 or 7 of the 10. If Ruthsatz gets hot and Tobler stays out of foul trouble the Colonels could pull out the W. Much as I would like to see Cov. Cath. at the Bank of Kentucky Center next week, I think the Indians have too many weapons and will advance.

Beechwood actually holds 900, same amount as Holy Cross. Kudos to Beechwood for moving the site and accommodating more fans. I doubt Holy Cross will do the same when it is their turn to host. If we get a packed house at Regents Hall, should Cov Cath also consider going off site when it is their turn to host? Their gym only holds 1,200.

As to the game, I think Holy Cross has too many weapons and the press will wear Ruthsatz down. CCH needs to minimize turnovers and get Campbell in foul trouble.

I support Cov. Cath. and Holy Cross hosting when it is their turn. I would support Beechwood hosting as well. Part of the charm of high school basketball is the crowd packed into a small gym, particulary in the Districts when games are typically more one sided. The Finn is my favorite place to catch a high school game. (I do not think it was fair when Holmes got to host the Districts during Beechwood's host year. The Bulldogs are always good and frequently great. They don't need any extra help. :D )

Ruthsatz will do his job on both sides of the ball.

Tobler is solid.

Cleves will do an outstanding job. They have to get defense and some production out of the other guard spot. Not sure what the Hayden situatio is but he can play when he wants to and make a huge difference. So is his ankle sprain still bothering him? Has to be the longest healing ankle injury in history. Is it something more serious that I am not aware of? If he is productive, the shooting guards produces points cov cath wins.
