I, for one, can't wait to go check the place out. I think it's a great idea and a great way to help bring back the Cincinnati brewery tradition even more than Hardman/Moerlein already have at this point. I know it's gonna be a zoo for Reds games for pretty much the entirety of the season (especially if the Reds off-season acquisitions pay off), but I can't wait to have a beer or two before a game and then walk over to the ball yard.

Anybody else looking forward to it?

The article online got me pretty excited about this. I'm not a huge Moerlein fan, but with 90 taps, I'm sure I'll find something I like. :D

The article says that it cost almost $10 million and can accommodate 1,400 people. There's also some type of outdoor concert area nearby which should be pretty cool.

I sure hope not, and I doubt it as well.

Worked out well for the Oldenburg Brewery at the Drawbridge, didn't it. Personally, I don't see an issue with having people getting what THEY want, not want the establishment wants them to. I'm sure they will have inflated prices and do ok on Reds games until the "novelty" of their newness wears off. If they don't start off offering top selling domestics, I'm sure they will change their business plan at some point and offer them before it's said and done. Time will tell. Will be nice to have a place to take pressure from the HG.

The novelty of the newness hasn't worn off on the HofbrauHaus.

The Oldenburg example is an interesting one, but I think their problem was location for one, and the fact that they were about 15-20 years too early on their business model. Microbrews weren't really a big deal then. I would bet that it would succeed now (assuming it was in a different location more friendly to foot traffic, like MainStrasse).

Exactly what I was thinking as well. They've been around long enough for the newness to have came, left and found it's way back again but it's never really seemed to suffer much of a drop off.
