As for the game, it was back and forth the entire first half with neither team leading by more than 4. I think the biggest lead for Holmes was 10-5.

 

Second half Boone pulled away twice to push their lead to 10, but both times Holmes fought back. With around 3 mins left, Rice got fouled on a dunk attempt down 2 (50-48). Makes first, misses second. Holmes then got a defensive rebound on the next possession but turned it over. Boone goes down, gets an easy basket and that was the closest Holmes would get.

 

Don't be fooled by the score. Game was much closer. Boone was able to extend the lead because of Holmes missed shots and turnovers and by making their free throws the last two mins.

 

Holmes played their seniors a lot last night. Boone was the better team but don't expect to see that same rotation if these two meet again in a few weeks.

Nice win for Boone. Congrats. Kind of shakes up the top 10 list a bit and confirms that the 9th is pretty wide open.

Rice continues to put up POY numbers....19 and 14 last night in a losing effort.

 

Knox, Coston, and Martin combine for just 8 points...ball game. In games Holmes has looked good, they have 4 guys in double figures.

Seriously; is there anything close to a clear-cut favorite in the 9th this year? Seems very wide-open to me.

Bolden had limited minutes in both JV and Varsity....was there a reason?

As far as favorite.... I really like Dixie. HC gets a lot of love because of their record but Dixie is hands down the most talented and has the best player in the region, imo.

Foul trouble in Jv game...varsity, I'd assume senior night played a role in his mins. Holmes looked good with him on the floor.
